I understand it’s early, but it’s interesting to see that of the 4K plus transfers only 2 5stars have transferred.
Bama and LSU are the only teams with an AVG of 90. Everyone else is less because most all transfers are 3 stars. Are these just backups overall?
Bama only has 4 players committed to transfer so far so we’ll see how it pans out.

This is the time of year where average players bounce around and the team losing them pretends they were trash and the team signing them pretends they're an all star.

Also some of these 4 stars haven't proven they are 4 star production in college. All these guys they just give their HS rating and not a transfer rating. Then you have cases like Lagway where they have played in college and not even close to 4 star results but are somehow ranked that high as a transfer anyway despite their tape.
How many of those HS rated 4 star transfers that LSU got last season panned out to be that level at LSU?

It's also the same up until NSD for recruits.

The rating services are stingier at dishing out stars to transfer players. People seem to forget that ratings are not a guess at how good they will do in college, its based on their likelihood of making it to the NFL (5* = 1st round, 4* = later round / UDFA, 3* = not in NFL)
Guys who are 5* college players but dont have the traits to be a NFL player can be rated 3* or 4* because of that
I also think On3 has done a better job overall with the portal re-ratings than 247 has

I don’t know if stars mean much. Seems like they only have like 2 minutes to rate each transfer. Just hard to rate 4000 players in a week or 2.

On3s rankings are a joke imo because they penalize for transfer outs and not in a proper way. Just having a bunch of transfer outs whether they did much at all or not penalizes you quite a bit with On3.

Why do you think every year there is the same number of 5*s as first round draft picks?

Agreed on how they rate team transfer ratings, it makes no sense to ding a program for getting rid of unproductive players. Im talking about individual player ratings

It’s not who you got it’s who you lost …. OU is in a much better spot

There isn’t. The number of 5 and 4 stars in each recruiting class varies from year to year from publication to publication.

Wonder if the Ferris St people were trashing Chambliss last year lmao

247 caps it at 32 5*s in a cycle specifically because there are 32 first round draft picks.

Some could be DII or DIII. They could have been studs like Chambliss.

Is 24/7 the only recruiting site out there?
