I’ve been to an Egg Bowl in Starkville and many Iron Bowls. It’s really not close. Few people outside of Mississippi and this board care about the Egg Bowl. I have friends in Chicago and California who watch Bama v Auburn. That said, Egg Bowl has had some characters over the years. Jackie Sherril and castrated bulls, Orgeron and Hummer commercials, Houston Nutt, Freeze and hookers, now Leach and Lane. Fun to watch.

1. Ole Miss vs Mississippi State (hatred and entertainment factor)
2. Ohio State vs Michigan
3. Army vs Navy
4. Alabama vs Auburn/tied with South Carolina vs Clemson. Palmetto bowl may be lopsided, but there is a lot of hate.
5. ATM vs Winning
2. Ohio State vs Michigan

Cool. The rest of the country does infinitely more than the egg bowl, which is why they’re the premier rivalries.
No need to get butthurt. The egg bowl is right there with Clemson-USCe, Bedlam, Oregon-Oregon State, Iowa-Iowa State, etc. All are fun rivalries with plenty of “hate”. People outside of those regions just don’t really care about them.

I STRONGLY disagree with that statement. I'm an LSU alumnus, class of 1991. I currently reside in north Georgia/metro Atlanta. I most DEFINITELY make it a point to watch the Egg Bowl every year. There is no better entertainment to be found in college football anywhere in the country. It's like watching Monday Nitro Wrasslin' take place in a cage on a football field with wild animals and drunk Mexican midget luchadores thrown in to boot! It is undoubtedly the best rivalry game on college football.
The Iron Bowl is extremely interesting most years for all the right reasons, but NOTHING compares to the Egg Bowl!

I'll always argue that in-state rivalries are more intense than out-of-state rivalries.
