Born in Ohio which is why I didn’t list Jesse Owens as he was born in Alabama.

Carl Lewis was born in Bama, raised in New Jersey, earned his fame at the University of Houston, and returned to New Jersey . . .

kind of mixed bag but Texas can't claim him.

If living 95%+ of your life in Texas counts, Simone Biles has to be added to the list.

Just to add to your honorable mentions list you have Julio, Phillip rivers, demarcus ware, Bart star, joe Namath, Ben Wallace I’m sure I’m missing some here.

Joe Willie Namath was from Western Pennsylvania. "Pistol" Pete Maravich was from the same area.

On my BAMA list, Bo Jackson from B'ham. was the greatest athlete I've ever seen. He's number one.

Joe Louis Barrow from Lafayette AL is #2

Willie Mays from B'ham #3

Hank Aaron from Mobile #4

Jesse Owens from Oakville, AL #5

White and Atkins are in the HOF. Hardaway was a 4x All-Star. Rudolph was a 3x gold medalist. McCarver was a 2x all-star and 2x world series champ and played in the majors for 22 years. Middlecoff won three majors as a golfer and almost 50 tournaments total. Al Wilson is debateable, but what has Golden Tate done that remotely compares to the names I listed for Tennessee? I guess I could have included Patrick Willis too, but I was also trying toinclude guys (girls) from multiple sports.

I know my sports history pretty well and would have to put Bo at the top without doubt. Bo would be top 5 of all states in my opinion

Of course not. If you aren't doing the same stuff today you aren't playing pro sports. All these pitchers routinely throwing 100 miles an hour, golfers are swinging and hitting 200-mile ball speeds. Justin Gatlin is getting ready for the Olympics. Cause we know that Olympic sprinters don't reach their physical peak until they hit their 40s. Masking this stuff is still light years ahead of testing.
