College Station and Lincoln make the list, but not Austin. Someone needs to get out more often.

No Fayetteville?

Fayetteville has a reputation for being hostile to visiting fans. I'm not saying the reputation is deserved, but it is a widespread perception.

I go to Madison for about a week every year. Great college town. Biggest issue I see with the list is they need to flip College Station and Madison.

Athens is number 1. Charlottesville and Austin round out the top 3. Chapel Hill is in the top 10 too.

I have no desire to visit the non-SEC top 10 cities.

I don’t understand why some people take lists/articles like this one so seriously.

doesn't seem like it would be much fun going to college in a place as cold as madison and ann arbor.

U of Texas is right next to an interstate....not a college town vibe.

Are you a dumb arse?! I was giving my personal opinion on my visit to Clemson and why its not a top college town. Drinking and bars are the biggest factor.

I know you are reject school of UGA, but try not to show it so much all of the time.

I have already made the consensus list that was agreed upon by the lords of the SEC rant

I have been to all sec towns excluding Mizzou during football weekends(I was under 10 though for some of the stadiums), and have been to all campuses for non-football weekends once again excluding Mizzou (all between 18-22 years old).

Here is the definitive list (I also dont include Nashville because it is so different and by far the best city):

1. Athens

2. Fayetteville

3. Oxford

4. Tuscaloosa

5. Lexington

6. Auburn

t7. Columbia/Knoxville/College station/Baton Rouge

11. Gainesville

12. Starkville

There are a ton of bars and restaurants that have alcohol in Clemson, most of them with walking distance of campus.

Can any of you UGA fans read?

It has nothing to do with bars. It has nothing to do with dining. It has nothing to do with shopping.

Top 10 College Football Towns

It is about the game of college football. Nothing more, nothing less. It is about the game day experience.

Some Georgia folks are able to read. They are simply to ***king stupid to comprehend what they read. You are right that they focus on the bars. Why? Most of them work in a bar or have an ambition to work in a bar.

More bars=more job opportunities
