The CFP committee should take note of the SEC's 8-game league schedule and use it against them.

OSU is coming up on a decade without a natty or beating a SEC team

Nobody gives a frick about BcS championships.

But it's ok to give a frick about a team that hasn't won a natty in nearly a decade? Make it make sense

And I let you know that you're full of shite. We have more wins than losses against the teams in your conference. Fact.

Which team is that?

This should be good.

The bottom line is that the BcS sucked. You won a bowl game, and then called it a "natty."

Congrats on winning the Leftovers Bowl over 16 years ago, though.

Part of the reason the Big 10 expanded is because it's filled with schools that aren't good at/don't care about football, and football's driving the bus.

I'm not sure expansion was the way to arrive at more games with CFP implications, particularly West Coast expansion. It seems like a scheduling agreement would have been a more cost efficient method for achieving this goal.

It is not that they don't care, it is they have not used their full resources until NIL came along. B1G schools held their Athletic Departments to a higher standard than the rest of college sports did.

Those CFP spots and money would go to the Pac and not the B1G. Why would the B1G give that away?

First off, until we overemphasized the national championship, games late in the season did matter a lot regardless of your record. Whether it was to get a good bowl, win the conference, beat a rival, or just straight pride, late season games did matter.
Just wanted to highlight how great of a post this is. Couldn’t agree more.

It’s really slow this off-season (I mean Ei Gold is the #2 story), and it’s so refreshing to see an awesome take like this floating amidst a sea of forgettable hogwash

If the Big Ten wants more meaningful games, they should dump 80 percent of the league and let whatever’s left just play each other over and over.

Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, Rutgers, Maryland, Nebraska, Minnesota, Indiana, UCLA, and a couple others are utter dog shite and is why the Big 10 is a laughing stock.

Alabama's November schedule has away games at Oklahoma, LSU, and @ home against Auburn.

I mean, sure, it could be tougher if we swapped out the G5 week for Texas or Georgia, but frick that. We're full in November.

The same could be said of over half of the SEC. They just ride the coattails and cash their welfare checks.

Petitti is actually the smart one. Attendance wains in the latter part of the season because the vast majority of teams are eliminated by mid-October from anything. Sure, if you are a fan of top tier team you have hope a lot longer into the season than the other 100 plus fanbases.

Sure, you have a handful of rivalry games that will bring the crowds but those are a very small percentage of games. As a commissioner of a league he is looking at all games and not just the elite. For every Mich-Ohio St or Bama-Auburn you have 10 games like South Carolina-Florida or Purdue-Illinois that mean nothing whether you win or lose. Fan apathy is a real thing and could get worse. That’s why playoff expansion is great. Maybe not for the top tier teams who now have to play more games to get where they were already getting but fit gives more fanbases hope which opens the wallets.

You guys love to nitpick the years you use for your terrible takes. It is always the last 8 years and a month or the start of this century. Convenient how it is always a date to fit your narrative.

Nebraska has achieved more than everyone in the SEC not named Alabama.
And all of that Nebraska did in the Big 12 and Big 8. They haven't done a fricking thing in the Big 10. You're literally doing what you're bitching about....Cherry picking dates to fit your narrative. You're a hypocrite and giant jackass.
