He is a Midwest guy who has a long time reputation of bias favoring Notre Dame.

Of course he’s going to say this about a coach who just spurned his favorite team.

Depends on the service. #9 class with ND’s standards is some damn fine recruiting.

#9 at a ‘national university’ with Notre Dame’s prestige is not great. If Kelly continues his lazy recruiting at LSU, that’ll translate to around being #6-8 in the SEC with the recruiters that are already in this conference.

Tom Lemming has been covering recruiting for longer than many here have been alive.

You’re right, you don’t have to worry about Brian Kelly trying to recruit at LSU at all. We’re screwed and you have it made now. Keep telling yourself this so you can sleep well at night. I hope it helps.

You do know that’s the only benefit he had with recruiting right? The prestige of Notre Dame? That was it. You have to have really good grades, great ACT, oh yeah and expect all the players to commit to not having premarital sex on campus. It’s a rule there, and if broken you would be punished. Can you imagine trying to recruit prayers from the SEC to that? Brian Kelly’s going to be in heaven now.

You know what this thread implies? Recruitment at ND is the same as recruitment at everywhere else. It isn’t.

Yeah, obviously he’ll have to allow the rampant non-consensual sex to continue at LSU as that appears to be one of the major selling points there.

Like the playoff games and the NC game ?????

Can Brian Kelly reverse Notre Dame’s awful record against top-ranked teams?

No, he won those games because ND plays the equivalent of a G5 schedule. Composite schedule had a .500 winning (or losing) percentage this year. The one respectable team on the schedule beat ND by two TDs.

Heard him speaking yesterday and the culture shock is immense. He and LSU are in trouble, especially if the recruiting thing is true.

And doing it badly all those years. He just flat out doesn’t know. Years ago he gushed about a ND recruit out of Alabama that neither Auburn or Alabama wanted. Never heard from the kid again.

Yeah I’m sure Saban would have no problem with that rule at all on Alabama‘s campus just own up to the fact that it’s going to be a lot easier for him to recruit at LSU than at Notre Dame, it’s a fact. And he would recruit better to LSU anyway because we are the better brand right now. It’s been 1 million years since they won a title. And we have been putting more guys in to the NFL too.

If you just post a link here posters complain. If you post the text some of you complain. If it’s a link or the text you either read it or not and I don’t really care which you choose. That is entirely up to you.
