You have to recruit nationwide at Notre Dame. It seems LSU gets nearly all their players from Louisiana and a little bit in east Texas and Florida. So Kelly has that going for him. Maybe it is a big factor for him making this move.

LSU should want a coach who comes there to land #1 classes, not a lazy recruiter who comes there for an automatic top 10 class. It sounds like Kelly is the latter if he wouldn't hop on a plane and visit the top Catholic prep schools.

He probably meant he like golfing more than he does Recruiting Experts. Who blames him ?

They’re 11-1 right now.

What a dumbass.
"Alabama head football coach Nick Saban is one of the most successful people in sports. Quite the golf enthusiast, Saban takes time to head over to the University of Alabama golf course to work on his game and spend time with the golf team fairly often, according to former Crimson Tide golfer Justin Thomas.
Given that love for the game, Saban explained in an Q&A with Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman just how influential golf is on how he coaches his players on Saturdays and beyond. "
Nick Saban: Golf Is A Metaphor For Life
"He started the first hole and hit it about four feet from the hole and made birdie with a stroke," Watson said. "Then he makes a par putt on the second hole with a stroke so he's 3-under on his own ball with the strokes. I said, well this is going to be a good day."
What's it like golfing with Nick Saban? PGA legend Tom Watson was impressed.

Sounds more like sour grapes. Typical of “journalists” these days

Would love for Kirby to land the top couple of players in Louisiana every year to help the Dawgs take it to Bama every year like they are going to do this coming Sardy nite.

Kelly had the #4 class last year and the #2 class this year at Notre freaking Dame.
This is moronic.
MARCUS FREEMAN did, you mean. Kelly averaged 11th before Freeman.

Is this the same Tom Lemming that was caught in emails years ago trying to steer recruits to ND and giving ND commits inflated star rankings?
Posted on 12/1/21 at 10:05 pm to Slackaveli
Has Arkansas ever had a class in the top 11?
Posted on 12/1/21 at 10:08 pm to DarbonneTiger18
Nope, but we still beat LSU's arse.

ND is a private school with very high academic standards. His recruiting was limited right off the bat, which makes it even more impressive how many wins he piled up. He won’t have those very high academic standards at LSU and all he has to do is keep the LA kids home! Smart move. And better weather for more golf!

Reminds of a situation from work. We lost one of our VP’s a few years ago to a competitor. It was a shock, but she had been with the company for about 25 years and things like this happen. The next staff meeting some of the managers were saying blah blah blah about her work ethic (she put in her hours and time) etc.
Someone piped up, “so let me get this straight this if she was so bad why did y’all keep her around for 25 years and no one brings it up until she leaves”.
Sounds like sour grapes to me.

it’s ok part of the deal was 5 new recruiting coaches, 6 consultants, 7 influencers, 8 bag men bagging etc etc

I bet LSU never wins a single game ever again and they are stuck with this new guy, who doesn’t fit in, can’t win the big one, hates recruiting and they have to pay him all that money. What a bunch of idiots! Can’t wait to drink all those corn dog flavored tears over the next 10 years.
End scene
