So close, yet still wrong.

is this really where you've arrived in this argument? Arguing semantics of what specific adjectives were used?

ND alum here. BK was not a good recruiter. The academic standards restrictions are overrated. ND can get nearly any kid into the school that it wants. And ND's had some great recruiting classes. Weis landed the #2 class, Kelly had a top-5 class right after the national championship appearance, he'd plateaued mostly around 10-15, but then he hired Freeman this past offseason and it's back into the top-5. What a coincidence.

Notice when Riley left, the OU classes fell apart. Notice that ND's 2022 and 2023 classes did not.

BK is a good CEO/program manager. He/his staff are really good developers of talent, particularly at certain positions (not so great at others, including/most notably QB). He's decent at gameplanning and on Saturdays. He himself was not a particularly good/high-effort recruiter, and I think LSU fans might be unpleasantly surprised at some of his classes, particularly with Freeman not joining him. They'll be good, probably near the 10ish range. They won't be top-5 classes consistently.

Your excuse is semantics when the words clearly mean different things?

The novel length Dear Facebook posts from opposing fans on Kelly’s hire at LSU are staggering.

This fall is gonna be fun.

We need coaches like Cristobal.

As an OL coach? Sure.

As a head coach? Not on your life...unless you want to start routinely losing to teams like South Carolina and Missouri.

Cristobal has lost to three...that's right, three...losing teams in the last two years. He goes into Ohio State and gets a huge win, so what does he do then, a couple of weeks later? He loses to 3-9 Stanford.

Imagine going on the road and getting a big win in Gainesville or Athens, and then turning around a couple of weeks later and losing to Vanderbilt. Because that's what you get with Mario Cristobal. And as if that wasn't bad enough, then he gets sodomized by Utah.

We're not talking about an isolated occurrence. On multiple occasions, he simply hasn't had his team physically or mentally ready to play. Once is forgivable. Maybe even once every couple of years. But certainly not with the frequency that Cristobal lets it happen. When Saban retires, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the Alabama program as a head coach.
