Quite possible. The thing is that he has that flexibility. If you're right he'll be DBs worst nightmare.

That would be a pretty good way to solve their run game problems. Don't even worry about running the ball. Just line up Jones, Ridley, Gage/Zaccheaus, Hurst, and Pitts.

Don't the Falcons need defense?

If you're picking 4th you pick best available, not for need.

I agree, if you use the pick. You can trade down and get two for one but that would not be my choice.

Given Ryan's age and contract, you give him weapons right now.

Won't matter, Ryan will never lead the Falcons to the promise land.

Time to move on from him when it makes sense and go ahead and get a young QB

I guess but dang they are awful on defense.

I'd pick QB because that's gonna be their greatest need. Who's coming out next year QB wise that excites anyone?

That's bad thinking.

Which QB are you going to pick at 4 that will change the future of your franchise? Which one of those QB's that Atlanta can reach is a can't miss prospect?

Pitts is a can't miss prospect, and those don't come along very often at tight end. He could have a Kelce or Waller type of impact on their passing game.

If I'm Atlanta I go all in for the 2 years Matt Ryan has left...draft Pitts, keep Julio and just load up on offense and try to just outscore everyone and see how far that takes you. 2 years from now they'll need a massive rebuild like Miami did. May not can keep Julio...I know they have cap issues, but if he's traded I hope it's to San Fran so he can catch passes from Mac lol.

So, the current college model, then?

How is that bad thinking if Ryan only has ~2 more years?

Who is throwing the ball in 3 years? Plenty of QB's to invest in during this draft.

Pitts is a WR at the end of the day, he isn't blocking anyone in the NFL.

Atlanta has to try and win now, and your only real weapon is your passing game. Do what you can to keep that together and improve it.

I understand the need to plan for the future, but trying to pick a franchise QB at 5 is mad, especially when you already have a top 5 passing offense and a chance to make it better.

I know Tom Brady is good, but the NFC south is wide open this year, IMO. If the saints could beat Tampa twice last year Atlanta can beat them this year, with the right weapons.

Need to trade down for more picks. Falcons are nowhere near one player away.

You'd have to find a willing trade partner, and one that will give you value for that 4th pick. The Falcons have 9 picks already. They need to do work in free agency also.

But you're absolutely right - they're nowhere near 1 player away. So use that 4th pick, get the best player you can get.

You want them to play chess in the draft, and they really need to play checkers for a couple years first.

Pitts doesn't address the key problems with the team, but neither would Fields or any other QB. I think Pitts can transform any offense immediately so I wouldn't be opposed to the pick.

Yep. It means the Falcons will just be winning games 50-48 instead of losing them 45-48.
