As long as Sumlin can reel in a string of top 15 classes (which he'll have done back to back in Feb), you have to assume based purely on the the law of averages, he'll have some success. Yes, Fran and Sherman recruited perennially in the top 20 (save an exception or two) but surely Sumlin can't be as bad a coach as them, right? I mean, we didn't whiff three straight times.......

oh shite.

46 of the 60 loses came at the hands of Big 12 foes. 14 came from out of conference.
Of those 14 loses zero of those teams were ranked in the top 10. Yall were not playing powerhouses. Most of those teams were not even ranked.

Exactly... if we get more talent from being in the SEC we will beat those unranked teams more often. Applying your own logic.

quote:

Fact, Texas A&M has not finished a season ranked in the top 5 in over 55 years. So now magically since A&M has joined the best conference in the country yall are supposed to be elite at flick of a light switch. It’s going to take much more than that such as a Nick Saban.

No. But better. We had 4 10 win seasons in the 90s, and in 85 and 87.

quote:

Yes, I have lived in Austin for 3 years among the sips as yall call them. Some things I have realized since living here. When Texas is elite they are very cocky and arrogant. But I know they are truly elite. When Texas is mid-tier they admit it and laugh at themselves. They often under estimate their team during this time. But they know exaclty what their team is every year.

You've seen this for exactly 3 years, which means you know absolutely nothing. When we beat them 10 out of 11 from 84-94, they didn't have any such whimsical nature.

quote:

When Texas A&M is mid-tier they are cocky and arrogant and very delusional to a point where it's both sad and annoying. But I know they are still mid-tier and have not accomplished anything in a very long time. But Aggies believe they are elite and will not admit to being mid-tier. Aggie gets mad if they are not respected before they acctually have accomplished anything. The little man syndrome/little brother syndrome is going on at full force.

I have never heard any fan base be more aware of their shortcomings than A&M, you need to get outside of Austin. I think Aggie only gets mad when they get disrespected by people that don't know what they are talking about. At the end of the day, most college educated folks in Texas don't have any hatred or ill will towards one another. The mixed households between Aggies/Longhorns are the overwhelming majority outside of your bubble in Austin. A&M just doesn't have a sidewalk following, and gets bashed from younger generations that can't remember past this decade.

quote:

I find Texas fans are much easier to get along with than Aggie fans. When I moved here UT was competing for national championships with Colt McCoy and LSU was struggling in 2008-2009. I heard all about it at work and dealt with the LSU jokes for those years. But Texas, Texas Tech, and Baylor fans are just more realistic and Aggie fans are delusional beyond believe.

Again, there are a lot of Aggies that spent 4 or 5 years at Kyle Field and never watched A&M lose. And this is where people like you don't have a clue. We aren't in the same boat as Baylor or Tech. We have lost 2 of the last 26 to Baylor. That is more dominant that Bama over Ole Miss in the same time span(3 of their last 26). Baylor has 3 conference titles since 1924(In 1994 they shared the SWC(4-3 conference record) with Tech and Rice because undefeated A&M was on probation). Texas Tech? They have never won an outright conference title as members of the SWC or the Big 12.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Southwest_Conference_champions#Football

But hey, some of my best friends are teasips and Aggies and whoever else. teasips as a whole in Austin are much more liberal, very very very hipsterish, and if that is your thing, more power to you, they would fit you much nicer.

6 of those 14 loses were to SEC teams: LSU, Ark (many times), UGA, and Tenn. So yall can now lose to Big 12 teams in OOC play.

No. But better. We had 4 10 win seasons in the 90s, and in 85 and 87.

You do realize that was 20 years ago. In the 90's you only had two bowl wins (Holiday and Alamo bowl). Have you done anything lately? I love history but I'm more impressed about the present.

Wow, now you’re brining up history from 30 years ago. kind of sad. The last 12 years Texas has beaten Texas A&M 9 out of 12 times.

quote:

you need to get outside of Austin.

Uhh, hell no. Austin and maybe San Antonio are the only cities I would live in Texas. Houston and Dallas suck. Mini-malls, huge freeways, chain restaurants, suburbs that go on for days, big pile of concrete. Nothing special or unique about Dallas or Houston. I have a hard time just finding stuff to do (besides pro games) in those cities when I'm visting.

quote:

Again, more history form 20 years ago. Don't worry, the last 15 years Aggies fans have witnessed many many loses at Kyle field.

Maybe Baylor but as far as Texas Tech goes you don't have a clue, lol. More delusional aggie fans, . Texas Tech has been head and shoulders better than A&M for quite a while now.

Texas Tech has beaten A&M 11 out of 16 games. Texas Tech had a span where they beat the Aggies 11 out of 14 games. A&M has won the last 3 to make it a bit closer.

quote:

We have lost 2 of the last 26 to Baylor

Yes, Baylor and Iowa State are at the bottom of the Big 12. Just like Vanderbilt and Kentucky are for the SEC. I compared yall to Ole Miss and Miss State and based on A&M preformance's the last 10 years it is a fair comparison.
It is sad that you are bragging about beating Baylor. Can you say the same thing about OU, UT, T. Tech, OSU, Nebraska?

But please go on and on about A&M's potential some more.

As you said, we've beaten them past 3 years. In 09 and 10 the game was over by halftime and the backups were in. They didn't make a bowl last year. If anyone has been head and shoulders better recently, I would say it's us. Keep going though.

We still made a bowl, as well as beat the team (for the 3rd straight year) that you're claiming is head and shoulders above us. If you're going to try to argue this then I'm done. I'm not sure what else to say

Oh i'm done with the Tech junk.

But since I looked up yalls history against Texas I saw a shocking rival history yall had against the sips.

From 1940-1974 Texas's record vs Texas A&M was 31-3.

Holy Crap.

We were a tiny school then and it was still mandatory to be in the Corps, which hurt the type of players we could get and the type of shape they could be in.

You mind looking at the rivalry since then?
We both have won the 8 conference titles, and A&M holds a 19-18 series lead.

Holy. Crap.

You're an idiot.

Little thing called WW2, Korea, and Vietnam going on then.

In case you're hard at comprehension: mandatory service for Aggie students during that time.

Sorry we sucked then.

But since that time period, you know when we stopped fighting major wars and began allowing women in, the difference in the head to head is negligible.

You are so, so intellectually lazy. It would take someone completely oblivious to anything beyond what's provided by a five minute google search to be persuaded by any of the shite you posted.
