Was drafted and he participated in the NBA Summer League and joined the team for a bonding trip to France hosted by Rudy Gobert.

Yes I know people pick and choose which part to get faux outraged about or not.

He's one of the guys trying to get a FIVE FOR FIVE exception.

Never signed a contract so he has a pretty good chance to be eligible (like the ND transfer that's on the LSU football roster).

His main complication is that he also needs a medical redshirt clearance for another season.

Important to distinguish players seeking FIVE FOR FIVE exceptions from the international players that entered NBA previous drafts but then played pro in Europe instead of in the G League. You see a lot of posters here grouping these all together.

KU's HC, Bill Self, basically committed same NCAA's rules violations as Wade. He got a slap on the hand because he is at KU.

Teams must be at least 10 points better than Kansas to win in the Phog. Big XII basketball and ACC football are the most corrupt in college sports. It's why Kansas usually flames out early; they get a 10-point advantage in Big XII games that they do not get in the tournament.

ND transfer wasn't drafted.

And, this player played in preseason.

Are we saying preseason isn't important anymore? If so, I have a follow up question.

I'm not trying to ague anything. You nor I make any decisions about it. You can show all lines / laws ever made to be arbitrary because they are all arbitrary.

All I'm trying to do is point out the exact lines that seem to be where the NCAA/SEC is pushing back hardest and most successfully.

Those lines so far from the many examples:

1. Signed a pro contract. Period. Right or wrong. Still Period.

2. Entered in a past NFL/NBA draft (pre-2026 and therefore not part of challenges based on the FIVE FOR FIVE rule)

Those are the specifics meeting the stiffest NCAA/SEC resistance.

Nah. Arbitrary comes into play when lines drawn in the sand didn’t apply before but somehow apply now.

Players who tried out for NFL were never eligible before.

Players drafted were never eligible before.

Players who made a preseason roster were never eligible before.

One of these three are still ineligible and apparently only some of the time.

…except for European basketball players.

Brand new never applied rule (obviously)
