Last year no tickets were available for less than 470 dollars on ticketmaster.

Is demand down for live sports?

I figured LSU fans would drive the prices through the roof.

What factors drive ticket demand the most?

UGA seems to pay the most. Do the Dog fans wait until they clinch East to drive the price up?

Will the LSU fans snap all available tickets up early since they’ve already clinched? Not seeing this in the market right now as tickets are low $300s in uppers on ticketmaster.

Is potential multi site travel holding down demand for this particular game?

I bet a lot of UGA fans are going to kind of wait it out, with most of them living so close to the site.

I would imagine there will be more demand from the UGA contingent when it's officially official.

Also last year there was a certain aura around bama/uga that I don't think lsu/uga has. Not that it won't be a massive game, but I don't think it carries the same weight necessarily on the face of it. Also UGa ticket holders are still in the process of requesting tickets through the school, so once we officially clinch and tickets are awarded I imagine you'll see more ticktes hit the market with people trying to make a profit.

And also the fact that the participants are not known at this time might have something to do with it.

Most LSU fans made Texas their go to trip for the year(I did)

Then, Bama game was also a big one. Add to the fact the Natty is in Nola and alot of fans are likely looking ahead, I dont think LSU will be a huge traveling base for this game

This board will say "poors", but not many people are willing to spend that much money for football. I know Im not

I don't agree with that. Our fans will always show up for the SECCG especially being down the road.

Also a small footnote that if LSU is undefeated going into the SECCG, the game is basically irrelevant for LSU as it pertains to the playoff.

Obviously LSU, and any team, would still want to win the SEC, but the fans will already be planning/booking for the semifinal in Atlanta or Arizona.

Now if LSU were to lose to OleMiss or A&M that obviously changes and LSU will absolutely have to win the SECCG to still be in playoff.

All that said, LSU fans will travel fine to Atlanta as always.

UGA has been to the SECCG 3 years in a row assuming they go this year, 2 playoff games in 2017, sugar bowl last year, and possibly playoffs this year. And those postseason tickets are expensive AF (playoffs and SEC game in particular). Wouldn't be surprised to see a decline in how well they travel just due to that fact alone.

That said, the SECCG is in Atlanta. If I was a UGA fan and there wasn't a clear home field advantage I'd be pissed.

Because outside of a couple anomalies, the sec champ has come from the west more often than not in the past decade or so. It's almost a foregone conclusion at this point.

I'm not sure why LSU fans are so dead set on this opinion, considering there isn't any historical precedent for it. Depending on what happens with the other conferences it is entirely possible you'd be left out wiht a loss.

Very few people could get tickets to the Texas or Bama games. There wasn’t a big neutral site trip this year.

LSU hasn’t made this game since 2011, and the conference championship still matters.

There are going to be a ton of LSU people going to this game. Neither (still not official) participant has allocated its tickets to season ticket holders.

Once that’s done the secondary market will pick up.

The return trip to the peach bowl if LSU were fortunate enough to end up there with the NCG in New Orleans is the one I’d expect a softer market for.

Really?

So Bama sort of drives the ticket price?

I think LSU fans have the chest to set a new Ticketmaster record of $500 get in price.

Unless of course they are poorer than Georgia fans.
Surely the Tigers will color that Dome purple.

12-1 LSU with the top resume of all playoff contenders is absolutely in the playoff. Has been discussed ad naseum by the national media playoff experts in the last 4 days.

Had there been 3- 4 undefeated P5 conference champs, this probably wouldn’t be the case, but that won’t be the case this year which is why they’re all saying LSU is still in with a loss to UGA.
