So yes, it was a penalty.
It was a penalty and that's fine, but it didn't look intentional or malicious. The defender hit Sellers and then pulled away without taking him to the ground.
Some defenders will end a play like that by taking the qb down and throwing their entire body weight on him as he hits the ground. That should be called roughing the passer most of the time.

You lost by 24 to Vandy. I'd probably just not talk about this game ever again.

Vandy playing hard-nosed football now and some teams are getting upset. Deal with it. Go Dores!

I don't think it was either. I was more upset with the officiating crew (and our OC and OL) than the Vandy player.

Is that why SC had more yards than Vandy?
What a fricking melt!
Sakerlina had 5 more yards than Vandy! But still lost by 24 points!

Right, I said earlier in the thread that it was the 3 turnovers in the redzone that cost SC. I think that's not a melt but a fair assessment of what cost SC the game.
Some nights just aren't your night. Last Sat was one of them.

They came in here and obviously played really, really well, We did not. It starts with me. Not good enough. You lose the turnover battle like we did tonight, when you turn the ball over four times in this league, you're going to get your butts kicked, and that's what happened tonight.
This is what it sounds like when you take zero accountability and the fanbase doesn’t hold you accountable either. It’s one thing if we had all those turnovers and we lost by 7 or less to Vanderbilt. But you had those TOs and get blown out too. There is no excuse for that.

I think the conference said back off on targeting penalties unless egregious. The crew on the field in both games did. The pussies in bham called them.
Yeah interesting. Birmingham strikes again. It's funny to watch those two "targeting" penalties and yet recall what dirty Dallas got away with on Jayden Daniels.

Vandy forcing 4 turnovers accounts for that. Stop. You’re not good at being misleading.

I'm not trying to be misleading. You said:

Vandy beat you in every phase
and I was just pointing out that they DIDN'T beat us "in every phase".
Sure the score was out of hand at the end, but for at least 1/2 the game was pretty close.

Blowing the whistle for the review took the tying TD off the board.
Bad officiating, for sure, but it wasn't a certainty that he would have scored on that play.

So if he barely hit sellers why did he leave the game is he tired of pulling this team and the fan base with excuses

Sounds like turnovers were the culprit...not your paper soft qb
3 of those happened after he was injured. It was a 14-7 game with Sellers in, and to be honest we had moved the ball nicely on two of those drives. Credit to Vandy for what happened the rest of the way, but I do think it would have been a closer game (offensively) had sellers still been in there....Or even if they had no blow the next play dead 2+ seconds after the snap...on what was probably going to be a TD to Harbor (splitting the safeties).
again, I cant predict the second half, Vandy straight up bullied us but that series was pretty emotionally draining and frustrating.
Also paper soft? It was a concussion, I get you can call someone soft like when Cam didnt jump on that fumble, but a concussion is different. It's like yeah, that wreck with Dale Earnhardt didnt look bad at first glance, but the impact was. Nobody is out here calling #3 soft? The impact with Sellers didnt look bad, but clearly to his brain it was. I guess I just think it's a shitty thing to dog a kid for going out with a concussion. If you want to make fun of our squad for being weak and getting bullied by Vandy in the second half, that is more than fair, but leave Sellers out of that

It's Nyck Harbor. The fastest man in College Football. He would have scored.

While not certain, you have a guy with elite speed, and the angle on both safeties...It's probably a TD, if not it's another 40 yards and driving.
Again, we lost. Momentum does play a factor. If SC scores, it's tied at half even with SC not feeling like they are playing well. I dont think we respond well to emotional plays that don't go our way, thats a weakness and on the coaching. I can honest about that. When it does go our way though, we usually are really good. The highs and lows
