If he was so good why didn't anyone offer him several million dollars earlier?

Titles are not the sole barometer for success in college football when 99% of schools are incapable of winning one.

Most SEC schools cannot win a national championship, period, no matter what.

Maybe no one was stupid enough. Except for Auburn maybe. We paid Malzahn 7 million/year.

This is completely insanity.

Tech can never win a title

State could never win a title.

Arkansas can never win a title.

Ole Miss can never win a title.

Kentucky can never win a title.

Mizzou can never win a title.

South Carolina can never win a title.

Recruiting isn't good enough and never will be to win a championship in MODERN football.

He’s a mediocre coach.
Those of us who know anything about him recognize he can be a loose cannon who often shows an unprofessional side.

The rest of the kids around here who know nothing about him—apart from sound bites from press conferences—think ... dude, he’s “awesome” and “funny.”

I hope he works out for State.
I just never saw it as a good fit.
Time will tell.

The right coach can win a title at any of those schools, cause they can recruit. Bobby Petrino was one game away from being undefeated at Arky.

Define successful. He’s never even won a conference championship and finished the season ranked in the top 25 only one time in 7 years at W State.

Pretty sure the bandwagon thing wasn’t Leach’s idea it was the PR people in the athletic Dept. that did that one

Mike Leach is a great coach. Let him get some better players on both sides of ball and maybe a killer DC, and he will be a handful. He's only 3 games in. There will be plenty of big time receivers that will want to play for him, and now that he's in the South, it will make it easy on him to getting key players.

Wazzu is the hardest public school to win at in the P5. Out in BFE with a HS stadium

One game away from an undefeated regular season is still VERY far away from a title

He would still have the SEc title and national title which would have been the two toughest games left against more talented teams

Really?? Who??

Because Texas Tech, ever since they left the Border Conference to join the Southwest Conference in 1955, has an incredible 2 Conference Titles, both shared:

Texas Tech Football Sucks

Tech is as big of a joke as Kansas in that period of time.

Because being a man of principle, Mike Leach exposed Craig James and his slimy political cronies in their attempt to destroy his reputation through the mainstream media. The slime has not forgotten.

That is why.

And he did nothing wrong.

Yeah because any school can win a title with the right coach

Get the frick out of here. Don’t act dense on purpose, it’s not cute

This says more about Mike Leach than Wazzu. A school in BFE was his best offer.

He's bad because of a photo?

And he should work on instead walking around acting like a politically correct corporate pussy?
