That's pretty cool. Do you have historic data/prediction comparisons?

Yes. fanbaseu.com. Go to "The Lab" tab.

Like Vegas, Weeks 1-4 are highly inaccurate. By week 6, the model will become virtually the most accurate it can be, then diminished returns from there. All models work this way, even Vegas.

Interesting stuff, thanks for posting.

Seems odd though that Texas would get -7.5 on the model based on criteria you listed (prior coaching, recruiting, etc). Sark has lost to Day twice in last 2 years (not to mention Kirby). Both teams are stacked w talent. Would just expect the model to be closer based on that data.

It doesn't look at "Sark vs Day", it looks at Sark vs the spread (in his career) and compares that to Day vs the spread (in his career). Get what I'm saying? But it looks at more than that. The model is really high on Texas' roster, even though Ohio State is good too. These are marginal differences though. It has Texas as #1 and Ohio State as #3 in power ratings. Texas being 3 points higher on a neutral field. It's very marginal, as with most models you see.

Looks good, man.

I like your presentation also.

These games are notoriously difficult to predict in the first few weeks.

Oh yeah. It's almost not even worth doing in the first few weeks, but it's fun and it's football - so why not.

Yeah all that makes sense. And like you said the model will tighten up after a few weeks once there’s more data. Regardless good stuff and thanks for posting.

A couple things in sports that no one gives a shite about, your bets and your fantasy team.
