25 years ago I worked in sales for an industrial flooring company. Brother, you have not been appalled until you make a site visit where a crew is showing up at an early close on a Sunday night after a busy weekend at a chain restaurant to demo old Saltillo tile in order to install epoxy. They would bring in surface of the sun portable lighting to help with install and it showed things under and behind things that I wish I had never seen.

And that's before the smell of whatever was alive under that old tile makes its appearance. And yes, it was a smell you could actually see.

I worked for Coke for a few years and got to know a few of the service techs who would install & service the fountain machines in fast food places & restaurants. Good Lord, some of their stories ... I didn't eat fast food for about 5 years.

I went to high school with a guy who worked the drive thru at the BK by my house. He would plead with us not to eat the food there.

Wife and Daughter went to Whataburger. Wife didn’t like it Daughter did. I can’t eat red meat anymore. But I do like Popeyes chicken sandwiches.

I’m surprised there’s not one in Chicago for the executives.

Whataburger was sold in 2019 to a company in Chicago I think. It has been going downhill some ever since. It is still better than most fast food burgers

There are like 12 locations in Kansas City now. Half of which are owned by Mahomes.

Why would anyone eat burgers from a fast food chain?

Do you not have actual local burger joints?

I’ve got a grill out back that cooks burgers the way I like them. I don’t know what the fuss is about…

And if In N Out ever expands more eastward like whataburger has then their quality will suffer too. Which is exactly why they really haven’t past Texas.

They are building an eastern distribution center in Franklin TN. In and out will be here in a few years.

Neither are as good as Freddy's burgers though
