The younger fans born late 90s or later who cannot appreciate the Saban Era for not enduring the good not great 80s and the absolute abortion of Mikes. Completely spoiled. The era has led to a crazy since of entitlement that even reaches beyond them to some that should know better and just be thankful.
Similarly, the young ones are the same who never experienced consistently good Bama basketball in the 80s to early 90s and above avg baseball, so fan support consistently lacks from what it should be.
In contrast, the old gray hairs who sit on their hands are just as annoying.
The combo of the two prevent the atmosphere that any Bama homegame could have.

There are two types of Alabama fans. There are the ones who, although we may use the word "we" when talking about the team, understand that in reality we have nothing to do with the product on the field and are simply fortunate enough to have the greatest program in the history of the sport represent our state and school.
Then there are the ones who use "we" and mean it. Those guys can be waaaaay annoying.

Some of our basketball fans get on my nerves. Barnes loses a game and they want to fire him. I mean, we're not Duke. I didn't miss a home game during the Wade Houston and Buzz Peterson eras. I know how bad it can get and I appreciate the great job Barnes has done.

I’m all for having a good time but I’ve seen more than I should grown men LSU fans fricked up and acting like idiots. If it’s a college student then that’s one thing…. But over 35 acting like that frick you.

Only thing I "hate" is looking around the stands during a rainy game and seeing a bunch of assholes in blue, yellow or green rain parkas. You couldn't drop $5 on a red or white parka knowing it was going to rain?

Everything here is right on the money. I will add that having the “olds” yell at people for standing up during the game is ridiculous. The student section emptying out by the middle of the third quarter if the game seems to be in hand.
The biggest for me is the not supporting all sports. Although we lost, the run our baseball team had in the CWS should be celebrated and inject life and rally support, but like it was said they will most likely shrug their shoulders and move on to football or softball.
I’m sure there’s more, I just can’t seem to think of any.

The ones that constantly bring basketball up in these mixed forums. There's a time and place. In the SEC we care about football...don't bring basketball up as if anyone besides us cares. Also the lack of taking baseball seriously. SEC baseball is pretty compelling. It warrants discussion, as basketball does, in season and when offseason news warrants.
I'm a 20 yr vet of the SEC boards on these here internets, and one universal truth is absolutely no one gives a frick about how good UK basketball is when we're having a football conversation. Some members of BBN just don't get it and act like the two are comparable.
Believe you me, I wish they were. They aren't. There's a reason we make over triple the revenue in football. Yes...even at Kentucky.

I hate the head in the cloud Aggies who think we have arrived. Everyone talks about a winning tradition, we ain’t won a conference title in 24 years. They love to talk about a winning tradition, granted when you use historical data we are in the top 25 programs, but we haven’t won anything of substance for most of my life.
I also hate the fans who have the mentality of next year and settle for 8 wins. The mindset of the fanbase is all wrong. Most of them are more worried about being loved by visiting fanbases and creating a welcoming environment. F that! The fanbase needs to be more cut throat and figure out that money won’t buy you a title, you have to have the right mentality (team and fans).
That being said, I have started to wonder if Jimbo is the right guy. His teams tend to have some head scratching loses. F***, I’m pontificating now. Happy 4th.

The best: Our softball fans are loyal, loud and energetic.
Could be better: Half of our football season ticket holders have had their tickets since 1883 and treat the game like it’s a church setting. Outside of Nebraska 2000 and Texas Tech 2008 our crowd is comparatively quiet and not intimidating at all. I watch Games on TV of LSU in Death Valley and Penn State white-out games and get jealous.
The bad: our baseball and basketball attendance and fan support is non-existent.

I'm banned from the Alabama forum, and I'm not missing a damn thing because of it.

Austin and the millennials at UT have changed dramatically over the years.
It's difficult for older alums to relate.
