The results from Sporcle’s “US States Quiz” make it clear that Missouri is the most forgotten state. The quiz has been attempted by players more than 19 million times, and Missouri is the state the lowest percent of people guess correctly. Only 77.6 percent of players manage to remember it, compared to the 97.3 percent who list California or Texas. The four most-forgotten states behind Missouri are Connecticut, Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Nebraska. If you’re one of the few who remembered Missouri, try guessing the only letter that’s not in any U.S. state name.

I wouldn’t think it was Missouri as they have two major cities. Delaware is easily the most forgettable for me personally.

South Carolina is trashier than Missouri and that’s a sad fact. Also, what’s this have to do with SEC sports??

The best South Carolina beaches are better than anything in the entire state of Missouri and it’s not even close

I'd imagine most people across the U.S. would prefer to move to South Carolina over Missouri.

Hence the 10.66% population increase for SC and the 2.77% increase for Missouri.

You obviously don't hunt. I ran into some fellas in northern Missouri while hunting this fall. They drove from South Carolina to Missouri just for hunting. We know what we have.

Missouri fun fact. Missouri shares a border with 8 different states, more than any other state. St. Louis was a frequent starting point for many settlers heading out west in the 1800’s, hence its designation as “the gateway to the West”. (See large Gateway Arch). Mark Twain was from Missouri, anybody remember him? Ever hear of the Missouri Compromise in American history class? Or the U.S. Missouri battleship where the Treaty ending WW Ii was signed? Harry Truman? Ever hear of him? Americans being ignorant of U.S. geography or history shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

One of the best part about living in this part of the country is that it isn't full of tourists and transients, so most of the people you encounter have a vested interest in their community. Missouri is also quite pretty, especially the southern half of the state. I'm perfectly fine with people incorrectly assuming it's a dull and forgettable landscape (like say, Kansas).

Yes one group of people you met who drove to Missouri for a particular activity (that isn’t even year round) means it’s unequivocally a better state to live in. Solid logic here.

Did you ask them why they don’t just live in Missouri if it’s so much better? Seems odd they’d drive that far if it’s so much better.

Mahomes’ 10 year deal is the best thing that’s happened to the state in a while.

This is why im not surprised Missouri is that high. You would be shocked how many Americans think Kansas city is in Kansas.

This isn't a Missouri problem, this is an education problem. Missouri has more to offer than maybe 50% of US states.

Between having 2 of the biggest rivers, some of the best lakes, 2 major cities, 5 major pro teams, biggest brewery, and a ton of history.... If schools didnt focus on genders as much this wouldn't be an issue
