Outside of Florida (10-3), every team in the conference had at least 4 losses. Alabama was a complete disaster.

AU was a one-man team that year. Rudi Johnson. They went into Tuscaloosa for a thrilling 9-0 victory only to get throttled by that 10-3 UF team in the SECCG.

Minus the Florida and UAB game fun year for LSU. Auburn game sucked also but I don't think anyone thought we would beat them anyway that year. It's crazy though how things have changed over the past 20+ years

Below freezing temps with sleet. I’m glad I wasn’t there.

I was there. It was miserable! It was basically an Ice Storm. Sleet and ice but no snow. We kicked 3 field goals. A friend who went with me to the first game at Auburn in '89 made me promise when it came to Tuscaloosa that I would go. The only good thing was that Auburn won. I think it was DuBose's last game.

I was. Last time I put on pads.

It wasn’t as bad as the Music City Bowl two years earlier, though. Nashville was incredibly cold that week.

Preseason #3. First game vs UCLA at the Rose Bowl. Freddie Milons returned a punt for a touchdown to put Bama up 7-0.

The season was all downhill from there, including a 21-0 loss to Southern Miss and a homecoming loss to UCF.

Independence Bowl -2000

But the Snow Bowl err the Independence Bowl on New Years Eve was epic. One of the great and memorable college football games of all time.

Yeah, but we continued the SEC tradition of fricking up Ohio St in a bowl game. A streak Arkansas broke about a decade later

Got a New Years kiss from one of the hottest girls in my high school that night.

I remember State playing in solid white unis to include white helmets. Could barely see them on the field.

I honestly think Mississippi state was better in 2000 than they were in 1999, despite having a worse record
