Nebraska has 5 national championships. That would put them at #3 in the SEC behind Bama and Georgia.
They're most definitely a blue blood program.

In 130+ years of college football Nebraska was relevant for less than 30 years, and even that was off and on. They've been pretty weak outside of that time period.

So how many do you think GA has?

Penn St and Nebraska aren't even close.
Nebraska at one point in history was a blue blood, some might argue still is, or that they've lost their status.
But Penn State has never been a blue blood.

Its actually about both population and money, kind of go hand in hand really.
But, yes the SEC is not going to dominate college football again, it will be good but have to stand in line with everyone else.
Parity has come, realistically in the short term only a dozen teams will have the means to consistently challenge for a "ship. After that depends on what rule changes take effect.

Yes, it was better when teams handed out cash UNDER the table. This “above board” stuff is BS. Unfair, to the “educational” institutions who built their athletic programs on buying players illegally… bc ya know, it was a habit and they were used to it

I would put OSU, Mich, ND, and Bama over PSU as Blue Bloods, but, PSU has had undefeated seasons in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 2 1 loss seasons in the 00’s.
Look at the records, PSU was equal to USC and Texas in the 70’s, and better in every decade since except the 00’s.

I’ll argue that indeed you can lose blue blood status. Nebraska is flirting with that as it’s been 20 years since they’ve even fielded a decent team, much less an elite one.
Right now, today the blue bloods are Bama, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Oklahoma, Nebraska.
That’s the list. All have multiple national titles over the last 50 years, have an extensive history beyond that, none have had significant periods didn’t either win or compete for national titles or being the dominant teams in their conferences (excluding of course ND on conferences).
I expect along with Nebraska falling off the list will be Southern Cal. The big 10 move wasn’t a smart one for them.
Texas, Oregon, LSU and Georgia are working towards getting on the list.

You don't make up your own blue bloods. You're missing Texas. Live in the world or go live in your bubble. You don't deem blue blood status unless you want to play in your own imagination.

You’ve got 1 national title in the last 50 years, might change that this year, but I doubt it.
Big 12 history? You played a very distant 2nd fiddle to Oklahoma.
Southwest conference? Last 50 years A&M has more conference championships than you. That includes 94 where I believe you shared the title with 5 teams.
You’re no more a blue blood than Yale or Princeton since the heyday of Texas football was before you were born unless you’re pretty old.
Half a century of history where you’re behind Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Clemson, etc. nobody’s arguing they’re blue bloods either.

So when Miami was winning championships in the Big East I guess they were the best conference.

Easier schedules are the answer. Given the strength of teams from top to bottom, the B1G had a natural, built-in advantage. I'm not sure how the SEC can dumb it down, considering the league overall, but scheduling tough OOC games is a no-no. BAMA will play 10 Power 4 teams next year. Big mistake.
By the time of the playoffs, SOS and that ridiculous extra SECCG is destroying health, am I right Georgia?

Who cares about conference superiority? I know as a Bama fan I don't. No way I'm "rooting" for a bunch of SEC teams who regardless of who Bama plays will always root against us. Eff all of y'all for all I care. I hope every SEC team (other than Bama) loses every non-conference game.
I'll be rooting for OSU against Texas, screw the SEC "loyalty" bullcrap.

Michigan just won its first natty since 1950. If you’re basing this on wins(I know they have the most) a lot of meech bullying of college football comes from pre 60s plus they’ve handcuffed their brand to Ohio states modern success.

There is nothing wrong with this, and there is also nothing wrong with appreciating that you play in a very competitive conference and root for your fellow conference mates when they play teams from other conferences.
Some people are just born haters.

SEC dominance wasn't gonna last forever. And the talent level is watered down across the board due to NIL and the portal. It is what it is....
