But if Kiffin’s roster includes any of these prohibited players there is a good chance the other universities just tell LSU to leave. If that happens LSU will be free to roster and play whomever, just not as a member of the SEC.

My only point is the SEC has a few big earners that carry the Vanderbilts, Miss States and Ole Misses. Without LSU, Alabama will have to carry more of that burden. They will need to be prepared to do that.

I don’t even blame LSU for wanting the players originally.
But the rule has been passed and I’m trying to patiently explain that the question has now escalated given the passage of the rule banning them.
Either the question of who gets to participate in SEC athletics resides with local judges in Lexington and Baton Rouge or it sits with the league office.
It’s not really about these players anymore, it’s about whether the conference is impotent to enforce rules.
The NCAA showed it couldn’t and is dying.
The SEC thinks it has to in order to survive long term. You’ve made this the litmus test.

Enforce the rules equally for everyone.

Once again the court has basically said LSU must accept these players. Do they just ignore that?

Of course.
Ultimately even Bama and LSU are replaceable though if the powers that be believe that the cost to keep a cornerstone is the viability of the conference long term.
Do you want all of a reduced revenue stream while bringing in UNC as a replacement or none of what you currently have when the schools realize you are as worthless as the NCAA and decide to replace you with something that would actually have enforcement capacity to ensure the business model is sustainable into the future?
The SEC isn’t a going concern if it can’t make the rules.

But the rules can’t break the law. In Wisne, the court decided the NCAA was violating antitrust law. The SEC is now saying if the NCAA can’t, then we can. 16 schools breaking the law doesn’t it make it ok.

Yes LSU can do what they want.
Just like Sankey can state the rules of the SEC. LSU can determine who stays and plays on their roster.

Sankey supported the NcAA suit against Bama and made it clear they needed to back down so they did.
LSU will have to decide if they want to back down or not.

During the hearing yesterday 3 SEC programs signed players that went pro.
3 of them.

LSU can roster but not play these players until the legal issues are resolved.
I’d make a deal with the conference that the players will be on scholarship per the law but not be played in accordance with the rule and the current court decision while getting them to agree not to lay the hand of God on Kiffin for orchestrating this mess.

That was proven false by the person who made the joke initially. There were 30+ players on the Louisiana suit - many sports, many schools. Vanderbilt had a player on the list. It was orchestrated by Texas Trial Group. But people who want to hate Kiffin will hate Kiffin. I’ve been there.
The SEC voted 16-0 on the pro policy in alignment with the NCAA. But that was under the condition that if the rule was determined to be illegal by a court, the conference would abide by the court order. Sankey said so himself.
