The new SEC ESPN contract monies are flowing in for 2024. $300M annually for the next 10 years. That's $18,750,000 annually for each school for 10 years.

Those coaches, their staffs, and players(NIL) will be wanting their share of those profits.

It’s a shitty fricking deal. B1G got a 7 year 8 billion dollar deal with CBS,FOX, and NBC.

SEC is getting left in the dust and our era of dominance is coming to an end

I'm sure the SEC will be renegotiating before long.

Not accurate. The $300 mil per year is in addition to the existing ESPN/SEC Network Deal. That $300 mill is primarily for the CBS package. When you compare apples to apples, the consensus is that the Big Ten will distribute about $80 mil per school and the SEC will distribute about $70 mil per school. That also accounts for the fact that the Big Ten has 18 schools versus 16 in the SEC

Wait, what??? Who negotiated that? With 16 teams, we’re getting robbed.

I think the 9th football game is the difference. Likely worth many millions. And why the SEC is holding out on going to a 9 game schedule unless ESPN ponies up more money

They refused the 9 game conference schedule for leverage moving forward. It’s pretty absurd schools are making this much money when coaching salaries and stadium renovations are pretty much entirely funded by donations

What ($$$) exactly did we each get in 2023? $38-45 million?

In a $110 million plus AD budget, we need to be getting at least $75 million for our SEC media rights.

SEC should definitely NOT go to 9 games a year unless ESPN/ABC will give us enough revenue to make it worthwhile. We just added Texass and OU and each of us (14 teams already in the SEC) got exactly ZERO $$$ more than we were gonna get for a 14-team SEC. The extra $$$ ESPN ponied up ALL goes to OU and Texass

I really wish it was a mix of CBS, Fox and ESPN/ABC. The quality of ESPN football coverage has taken a steep nosedive the past couple years while Fox seems to be getting better at doing CFB along with NFL. The past two seasons I found myself watching Big Noon (in spite of Urbs) more consistently and only switching over to Gameday to see what stupid headgear Corso puts on...and even that will go away soon.

You are way off my boudin man.

From the SEC in Feb
quote:

Southeastern Conference Commissioner Greg Sankey on Thursday announced that $721.8 million of total revenue was divided among the SEC’s 14 universities for the 2021-22 fiscal year, which ended August 31, 2022.

The total includes $698.5 million distributed directly from the conference office, as well as $23.3 million retained by universities that participated in 2021-22 football bowl games to offset travel and other related bowl expenses.

The amount distributed from the conference office, excluding bowl expenses retained by participants, averaged $49.9 million per school.

Exactly, that's what I'd want with the same money ESPN is willing to pony up.
