Is this where we pretend OSU, Michigan, Oregon, etc weren’t paying players ?

Depends on what kind of schedule they get. If they got a Aggie or Vandy schedule, probably 10 wins.
I'll give you that....I'd say Iowa would win 10 games with those Schedules and probably do it with Ole Miss schedule as well.

They would definitely win 10 games with your schedule.
Have you even seen who you play next season? Its a fricking joke. Dont come at our conference when you play the sisters of the poor 10x a year

There are structural reasons in bowl games for why the SEC doesn’t do as well. Most bowl game match ups have the SEC’s 7th best team against Big 12’s 3 or 4. Like Wake Forest was chanting “SEC” after beating a team with 1 SEC win in 2 years and they were a 9 win team. Insane behavior.
The part of the narrative that needs to be dropped is “This team would run the Big 10/12/ACC” if they moved over there and aren’t already a top team. We aren’t as deep as we think.
I also think our fanbases aren’t providing environments for coaching to succeed. Everybody wants to be in the playoff and fires coaches after 2-3 years of they aren’t there. The timeline needs to be reevaluated.

I think this is the part that non-SEC fans focus on. A lot of SEC fans think teams like Missouri would win the Big 10, Big 12 if they didn't have to deal with the "gauntlet" of an SEC schedule. I think this bowl and playoff season should wake those fans up to reality.

I think people are making the wrong argument. What's killing the SEC isn't NIL. Georgia, Alabama, Texas, LSU, and Texas A&M are still recruiting solidly even in the current environment. What's killing the SEC is the transfer portal and the unlimited amount of times you can transfer to a new school without having to sit out. That has been the great equalizer. Depth is no longer sitting on the bench. It's leaving to go somewhere where it can play immediately.

The only real way to compare the BIg10 and SEC, IMO, would be to let the top 6 teams in each conference play each other on neutral fields, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, and 6 v 6.
Indiana v UGA in Lexington, KY
Ohio State v Bama in Knoxville, TN
Ole Miss v Oregon in Tempe, AZ
A&M v Iowa in Fayetteville, AR
and so on

Recruiting ratings show that it has nothing to do with everyone being able to pay players. These people are ignorant.
It’s unreal how stupid and lazy this take is.

The 5 SEC teams in the CFP vs only 3 from Big 10 gave the Big 10 a nice advantage. The 6th best SEC team played the 4th best Big 10 team. The 7th best SEC team played the 5th best Big 10 team.

Meanwhile the Big10 has had a massive pedo scandal, the biggest cheating scandal ever, one head coach arrested and their #1 most of the season exposed by the last team into the playoffs..... yeah, sweep off your own porch beotches.
LOL- Kirby Smart was outcoached by a head coach who openly stated he didn’t even want to be a head coach

You are correct. The SEC is still leading college football in high school recruiting. The transfer portal is spreading out the talent.
I have thought the NCAA may have set up this transfer rule as a way of spreading out the talent across the various conferences. The sport was becoming too regional with the dominance by Southern teams.
The big tenners want to talk about NIL. I am pretty sure the SEC was not doing anything other big time programs were not doing.

Good grief. The B1G is being carried by IU and Oregon.
The SEC had a bad bowl season. True enough. These corn fed homers have been waiting to say these things for over a decade.

I agree that the mock chanting was unbecoming. OSU fans were doing that to Tennessee fans last year as well. But it’s not surprising that would happen. It’s literally a part of the advertising on the SEC network

As I said, the results on the field are what they are. That’s the quantifiable statistic. And it shows the Big10 kicking the shite out of the SEC.
BUT, there is a reason for it. And it’s not as simple as “big10 is better.” Especially now. There is an intensity component here.
May want to sit this one out Irish. The schedule for next season is worse than the sunbelt, and even if the Irish went undefeated, they shouldn’t make the playoffs.

That’s a fair point right there.
I do think that “peaking” is a thing. A team can’t stay at full throttle the whole season. A big10 schedule allows for some easier weeks. A lot of them. The SEC not as much.

True. Bowl records don’t lie.
I think they do. So many players opt out, few bowl games feature anything close to the regular season team.

Big Ten is buying titles with 22-24 year olds who should be working their first adult jobs.
SEC is developing 18-20 year old future NFLers.

What do you think Iowa would do in the SEC?
Uhhh …. They’d lose a lot. With good clean football and solid OL play.
And again …. Pointing to bowl games these days as proof of anything is naive. Too many players opt out now.
