All of that said he is a great coach, not infallible. Alabama schooled LSU on 1/9. That is not a joke.

The LSU defense actually performed well enough to win if the offense could have been merely average. Miles gets out coached much more than Saban.

That's one thing that doesn't get enough mention IMO. I thought the LSU defense played one of the greatest games I can recall seeing. They were literally on the field the entire game.

LSU possessions.

1 - 3 and out
2 - 3 and out
3 - 5 plays, 17 yards
4 - 3 and out
5 - 3 and out

2nd half
6 - 5 plays, 23 yards
7 - 2 plays, -1 yards, INT
8 - 3 and out
9 - 6 plays, 17 yards
10 - 8 plays, 15 yards, Fumble

Even after all this, it's STILL a 2 score game till Richardson finally pops a run with under 5 min to go.

11 - 3 and out

I give LSU's defense a tremendous amount of credit for the heart they showed in that game. They played hard the whole game, because you can bet they knew they'd have to win it at halftime.

Nah... 71 years old, just completed another triathlon, though knees are a problem. Here is a picture with some friends, with some free bits of wisdom.

Another note: what is it about fast cars, poetry, and intelligent women that you think is so...losing (I thought "losing" was 21-0 or something)? Are you a gay, a greenie Prius driver, uneducated about the arts? Or are you just ... er ... "special?"

Actually LSU did play a good game on defense or the score could have easily been 38-0. My point is the epic long-lasting loss of reality after the game. Good god, you do NOT see Alabama fans pouring out their lament about kick-6 or whatever, as bad as that fluke was. I sincerely hope that my LSU friends eventually get over it all and life brightens

Many would question if Saban is even the best coach ever at Alabama--have we already forgotten about the great Paul "Bear" Bryant?

No one has forgotten him and anyone who ever does is a fool to do so. Saban is easily the second best head coach Alabama has ever had. He has 3 national titles, 4 conference titles, and has 103 victories to his credit. He's still only our third winningest head coach. He needs 12 wins to tie Frank Thomas for second most victories by an Alabama head coach.

I would argue he's the best ever due to the era he's doing this in.
