Where would Bama be right now if they played A&M’s schedule? Undefeated, that’s where.

We beat the team that beat Vandy handily. If Bama wants to argue that they're a playoff team, then don't lose to Vanderbilt.

Oh I see. This year everybody's got their trump card, and yours is Missouri.

That's a weak arse trump card.

Bama just handily beat the same team that beat Vandy. Beat Georgia and then you can say you’ve done something.

What’s it like being the team that no one gives two shits about? This ain’t the Big 12. Welcome to reality. Get bent bitches.

Any more than 12 absolutely waters down the playoffs, and I still maintain 8 is the perfect number.

8 is perfect number. Elite 8 nice ring to it. Doesn’t water down the regular season.

Or make it 6. Give first 2 overall seeds byes like the NFL.

1 v (winner of 6v3)
2 v (winner of 4v5)

The East won one SECCG from 2009 to 2021, and it was Georgia’s mulligan against Auburn in 2017. I’m grateful for that one though.

6 would be fine most years, but 8 would provide an opportunity in years when there are more than 6 that are truly playoff worthy based on their body of work during the season. 12 still maintains the importance of the regular season, but 8 would take it back to "every game counts" and you may not even be able to slip up even once.

Yes, that would mean my team has a tougher path to getting in and playoffs and trips would be less frequent, but when they do achieve it then it would feel much like it did last year when there was a very exclusive club of 4.

Who here thinks A&M has a hope in hell to beat Bama? Why not, they’re #1 right?

You are a moron. A&M has beaten Bama twice with lesser teams. Twice. November 30th can’t get here soon enough. What’s going to be your story after A&M beats Texas too? Because right now most people see that as an even game. Maybe you should focus on Florida. Because A&M destroyed that team. In the swamp. Let’s see what you do.

[quote]Unless somehow the 2 highest ranks teams in the SEC get in, it won't really be a championship game.

Otherwise, it's just a small league tourney. 2 team tourney championship, that's it.[/quote

The CCG will consist of:

* one team that belongs there
* another team that backed in through a weak schedule

The true #2, #3, and #4 in the SEC won’t make it.

It will be a game between the best and then maybe the fifth or sixth best, rankings be damned.

I've been arguing forever that the 16 (and eventually 20) team SEC will have a more meaningful championship game than whatever the Playoff can offer. Feels inevitable that we will have a four-team conference championship playoff.

No conference should have more than 10 teams, all of whom play each other every year. No divisions. No championship game.
If you want the most fair conference setup, no more than 6 teams. They play each other twice, once at home, once away.

I was talking with someone the other day and they pointed out the NCSS Tournament makes 1 billion dollars for the NCAA every year

we’re going to have a 32 team playoff before you know it.

ESPN already penciling in A&M vs Texas as their first round playoff matchup.

Maybe y’all can talk to ‘em based on your contractual relationships. It’s just so forced all the time…
