Dang Alabama fans are worried. They're obsessing over their perception at 3 am in a random day in May.

They won't admit it, but 44-16 was the beginning of the end of Saban's dominance.

And Bama fans wonder why some posters take such joy in 44-16

I mean, is this not sad?

not nearly as sad as creating new alters for the express purpose of just more silly assed trash talk

I'm not a Bama fan by any measure, but if people think Bama is declining I believe this season will prove them wrong. Saban has something to prove now.

Somehow this "success" vindicates their forebears who suffered Dantean hardships and loss of honor and their own feelings of inferiority.

In the 24 seasons between the Bear and Saban, Bama:
-won a national title
-won 3 conf titles
-finished 1st in the West 5 times
- had 9 x 10-win seasons on the field
- had only 5 x losing seasons on the field
- went 11-18 in Bowl games
(Quick count of all, but I think that is accurate)

All while overcoming a multitude of coaching turnover and a heavy sanction period.

So, while not great in comparison to other UA eras, it is hardly hellish, as it would be the best decade and a half for many other programs.

To your metaphor, it was more like the limbo of the first circle for the unbaptized; filled with nothing more than a few sighs in the grand scheme. At worst, it was second circle uncomfortable wind blowing type of hell for a few sustained periods in the mix.

The fact that after 10+ yrs of dominance in this conference by one man/one team we still see a massive amount of doubters every year....it's unreal.

Alabama has won 5 of the last 10 championships, what the hell else does the man have to prove?

And after a swift kick in the arse from their size 13 combats opposing fans will have no choice but to turn back into baseball or baskets or women's softball fans. Anything but football. The awful truth is right around the corner boys so get ready to go back to screaming about cheating, and referees and moving offices around like so many deck chairs. Maybe even save for maybe some bill boards or petitions or signs and banners. Shits about to get real.

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Everyone will just "copycat" Clemson and Saban will be lost.

Like how everyone copycatted Alabama/Saban?

Unfortunately, that even hasn't happened yet except by Clemson. An SEC caliber, non-SEC team who gets the benefit of playing in the ACC with no real competition. Clemson proved that Alabama still has to be out-Alabama'd. Georgia's almost done it twice but still hasn't gotten it done. This shows that only an Alabama-like team who doesn't grind in the SEC can beat Alabama.

I was shocked someone could make such a trash post but it made a lot more sense when I saw you are from Columbus.
