East
Bama
AU
UGA

Regionally aligns perfect, the balance of power is about as good as you can get. Play 7 teams from your division rotate 2 from other division. Barely any rivalries get killed with this. You can even do 1 permanent opponent from other division to preserve almost all rivalries and rotate the other, but I think more people would rather see variety of teams at that point.
I sometimes wonder if the SEC is afraid of that because both sides are large enough that in the future they could break away and start their own conference.

The only team that loses rivalries in this setup is LSU. LSU loses all 3 annual games that I look forward to the most and replaces them with Texas, Oklahoma, and Mizzou, which isn’t the worst possible tradeoff, I guess.
So, 7 division games and 2 rotating cross division games has every team playing every other team home and @home every 8 years, which isn’t ideal, but isn’t terrible either. If I was a fan of virtually any team, this would be my ideal schedule solution.

The east has SEC flavor but the west looks more like the Big 12 or southwest conference
That's fine for Arkansas but crap for LSU and the Mississippi schools. I don't think it's what A&M wants either

Thats the way i look at it. Sucks to lose AU/Bama/UF each year but on the flip side adding OU/UT easily replaces 2 of those.
And if we're honest we dont have one of those old old school rivalries dating back forever like some other schools do. If they want to preserve rivalries it will be the ones like AU/bama, UGa/UF, Mississippi schools, bama/tn, etc...which this setup does

I think the other issue is the conferences are a little off-balance competition wise as well. The East with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia looks significantly stronger verses the West with LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.
With that said, Ole Miss, Miss State, Mizzou, and Arkansas are probably a little stronger than Tennessee, Vandy, Kentucky, and South Carolina

Without a doubt. No way those giants get put in the same division

Mostly because Texas has stunk it up recently, which you figure they would pull out of it EVENTUALLY and not Nebraska themselves into oblivion. Once they come back, it's not so bad. Bama is always going to skew things one way or the other.
Missouri vs. Vanderbilt is a big advantage for SECW there though by comparison.
Then compare Arkansas, Mississippi, Mississippi St vs. Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina.
Overall it's about as good as you can get factoring in most things

No one cares about pods or division. The fans care about rival games.
Just keep rival games and no pods or divisions, just rotate the schedule to get through the entire conference as quickly as possible with the 8 game conference schedule that the SEC has exploited successfully FOREVER....
Get as many teams as possible into the CFP and look for the PAC/Big 10 alliance to try to stall the expansion of the CFP as long as they can.......the PAC Big10 alliance is scared of the expanded CFP and the possibility of 5 SEC teams in the playoff.....

ummm...you realize every rivalry I posted, all 6 of em, have been around long before 1991 annually and are still now played every year annually after 1991, right?
There were "traditional" rivalries that were broken up in 1992.
It's impressive how badly you missed the point here.
