Recency bias much? Or are you just 13?

My thoughts exactly. Miami, Nebraska, USC, a couple others say hi.

You can’t spell usually inconsistent without LSU. Yes Alabama, you have 18 National Championships, 30 SEC championships and 36 seasons with 10 wins or more with 16 straight. But we went 15-0 in 2019. WTF.

Agree. Best 4 teams of the past 6 years.

Teenager outing themselves on the rant. Good to know we aren't the only fanbase with one here.

2001 Miami gets their hype from an NFL roster. That Nebraska team was my greatest team well past 2001 but their aura comes from destroying a good Florida team. That 2019 team was the best oiled juggernaut by the end of the season and was destroying everything like I've never seen in my 50 years of watching football.

Texas was not the #9 team and, from what I learned here, how a team is ranked when you play them does not matter. We are reminded of this daily. Again, you almost lost to texas. A really bad texas. You had a great team. Just not top 4 all time.

Wasn’t Texas a good team early in the season before injuries? They fell off as the season progressed.

Not really. Tom Herman was an expert at getting the team up for big games and then get beat by mediocre teams. LSU was up 7 late in the game but Texas was getting in a groove offensively. It looked like we had LSU stopped and were about to get the ball back with a chance to tie but then as a Todd Orlando coached defense was to do that year, they gave up a 3rd and a mile and LSU scored. Texas still went back down the field to pull back within a touchdown and tried an onside but no dice. I don't read too much into it because it was the 2nd game of the season and everyone is still working out the kinks.

Texas went on to lose to OU, TCU, Baylor and Iowa State in the regular season. The hype was off the charts at the beginning of the season though because this was after we beat Georgia in the Sugar bowl and Sam Ehlinger said..... well, you know what he said, I ain't repeating that shite.

Muh recency bias, but we will not see teams this good again. College football has suddenly become extremely watered down with unlimited free agency.

Without Neyland for a coach or Sewanee for a team, seems hollow

Wrong.

Amazing stat, no team had the ball in the fourth quarter with a chance to take the lead against 2019 LSU the whole season.

You realize the team MOST agree had the most talent of all time, 2001 Miami, barely beat Virginia tech, a 4 win team, by 2?

Every year even the greatest teams have a game that was much closer than it should’ve been. At the end of the season, when 2019 LSU was really rolling beating top 5 teams by 20-30, no other team in history would’ve beat them.

Forgetting about that dropped wide open touchdown in the first quarter, huh?

2001 Miami would’ve still been 8-4 if their offense never scored a point.

2018 Clemson beat the so-called “greatest team of all time” (Bama according to ESPN) 44-16 in the NCG…no one else can claim that feat!

Because it’s true. Prior to the sport actually making a boat load of money for the school, most colleges gave about as much attention to football as they do women’s sports now.

All those “Bear Bryant wins” are pretty meaningless when you are one of maybe 3 programs actually taking it seriously. On top of being able to just stock pile players like crazy because that was prior to scholarship limits. You frickers can be “impressed” by that guy all you want, but honestly, he was just the tallest midget in the room and nothing more. Place him coaching at his prime in today’s college football and he’d have a losing record.

I disagree but you have a right to your opinion. Recency bias is always in effect.
I'm not dissing your team overall. I think they were a great team. Probably the best in the last 10 years or so. I just don't think they belong in the top 4 all time. Just my opinion from watching CFB for a very long time.

My Top 4 would be one team from each of the past 4 decades.. but even this would be debatable..

1990-1999
1995 Nebraska

2000-2009
2005 Texas

2010-2019
2019 Tigers

2020-today
2020 Gumps
