You realize there’s still something like 20 teams that are still playing and the portal isn’t even open yet?

I mean Houston is a ranked team with 3 losses, who had no players opt out. LSU was a 5 loss team, with an interim head coach and OC, and a ton of opt outs. It’s not super surprising. We still win without the awful officiating and missed fg.
I mean technically they’re a 3 loss ranked team, who only had one player opt out. We’re a 5 loss, unranked team, with an interim coach, and full of opt outs. It’s not really a big surprise, what’s happened. It is disappointing that we start off up 14-0 and still manage to blow it.

No one really knows, but some have to be NIL negotiations gone bad. I’d imagine as bad as our oline was this year, Lane didn’t want to pay what they were getting or give them pay increases and combine that with new head coach, oline coach, and new recruiting coordinator, and it’s not too surprising.
I mean his team he built is in the second round of the playoffs, so he must’ve done something right.

5 star out of high school. Year 1 starter in the SEC. Tons of eligibility left. Not many oline in the portal yet. It’s really not a huge surprise.
Just take the best available at positions of need and if possible a solid depth piece with a couple years of eligibility.

The Florida fans actually like Juluke and what he was doing with their backs. He needs to learn to keep his hands to himself though.

Yeah….Nooooo. We lost 2 backs to the portal. You can’t go into the season with 2 running backs and one of them being injury prone….runningback is a high injury risk position.

So you think Bryce Underwood would take a multimillion dollar pay cut to sit the bench? You’re out your mind if you believe that.

He took a 3 million dollar raise to go somewhere less than a hour from his home. I think most of us would’ve done the same at 17. We celebrate recruits who do this to other teams to come to LSU. In this era of football, you can’t have the scorned girlfriend mindset, you have to be open.

You do realize we have 2 running backs right now in Durham and Berry. One is injury prone. You absolutely HAVE to take a minimum of 2 backs in the portal after we are losing 2.

People in here saying no to Lacy are absolutely dumb. You don’t turn down proven guarenteed production for potential. We just lost 2 running backs to the portal. We HAVE to take a couple running backs in the portal, why wouldn’t you take one of the best in the country? You can have multiple running backs with great production. Also running back is a high injury risk position.

Jackson and Ju’juan Johnson both gone. I sure hope we keep Durham and Berry and get Lacey in the portal. Hopefully if we do get Lacey it doesn’t push one of them to transfer.

So yall that are saying traitor or do not want… at 17 years old, you’d turn down a 3 million dollar raise, somewhere less than a hour from your home? He liked LSU a lot, but the money offered was life changing….
He’s coached at other SEC schools, if LSU doesn’t give him the role he wants or demoted him, he’d leave.
You realize he’s been employed by LSU for about 3 days? These weren’t his recruits. Literally his first few hours here he met with one of these kids that didn’t sign today and is waiting. Anytime there is a new coach hire and position coaches and coordinators let go who have recruited these kids for years, you lose recruits. That is why most of the time the first year of a new coach is a rebuilding year, but with the portal hopefully this isn’t the case.

Salary wise it’s almost a lateral move. 2.5 million now to maybe 3 million from Tulane?

I mean, I know in coaching terms that’s not a huge difference, but we’re talking half a million a year difference. That’s not chump change. I do think LSU would come close to matching that if need be, but I agree I don’t think money will be the deciding factor for Baker.
Maybe high upside, which for UK, is worth the risk, but I wouldn’t say he’s the best hire based on no head coaching experience.

Did you not watch a single LSU game this year? A blind kid could e pointed at a play sheet and it would’ve been an improvement.
