The kid can make it rain. I can't imagine what he was thinking leaving Japan for Ranger Junior College all the way out near Abilene, TX.

Worried about Nebraska. Which version of A&M will show up?

Our greatest weakness is our defensive approach that can allow record three point nights for opponents. This kid could feast on that.

My kid's high school program runs the same approach, and every school would suddenly put on a record night from behind the arc and the go get shut down in the next game.

Happened to us last year vs Penn State and it happened to us this year against Florida in the tourney. Both teams went on to get beat in the next matchup while barely making any threes.

Saying Ranger is near Abilene is like saying Marlin in near College Station. Ranger aint' near anything. Nearest sushi has to be an hours drive away, and that's if your brave enough to buy sushi in Abilene.

I once went to a job interview in Abilene, and it felt like I was a million miles from civilization. Even the flights in and out of there were an adventure. I turned down the job.

im imagining he and wade taylor are going to look like some youth game of horse where each one takes a couple steps back to try and outdo the other.

They may not get a single offensive rebound.

You win by 3, you die by 3. If A&M is lucky, Neb's 3s will be bricks. We can't seem to defend 3s raining down though.

A&M is inconsistent as all get out. But at least they have developed another ball handler and scorer in Manny Obaseki, and Solo Washington drains some 3s too though he is too temperamental.

This team would be been a high seed and Sweet 16 lock if scoring center Julius Marble had been able to play, thus giving an inside scoring threat as well as better rim defense. Instead, he never played a game and is already off to next chapter of his life somewhere else.

All in all, I won't be surprised with an A&M loss, nor will I be surprised with an A&M win. I almost think they will have lot of motivation to win this and face Houston to try and avenge a close loss earlier in the season.

Alabama's defensive approach is much more varied and versatile than that. We neglect to defend anyone everywhere on the court.

Abilene is the biggest small town in the country. Over 115,000 but still has a real small town feel to it. I have not lived there in over 40 years, but when I do visit family, etc., I almost always run into people I went to school or church with back when I lived there.

Ranger is about halfway in between Abilene and Fort Worth. Ranger is also a dump.

Bama will have the Australian Steph to worry about. Reyne Smith is a beast.

Guess who brought him to Ranger College?

As a freshman, he helped Ranger College and Coach Billy Gillespie to a 28-3 record and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament before COVID-19 ended the season. A first-team All-Region V and Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference honoree, Tominaga averaged 16.8 points per game on 55 percent shooting, including 47.9 percent from 3-point range. He totaled 11 games with at least 20 points in 2019-20, including a season-high 34-point outburst.

Ahh Billy G . . .what could have been if he had:

- stayed off the hooch

- or least called a cab every now and then and

- Avoided ponzi schemes

If BCG had stayed at A&M and not go to UK, I think we would have built a statue for him outside of Reed Arena. I think going to UK not only ruined his coaching career but his personal life as well.
