In football it will be the best G6 conference but I think it’s going to be a strong basketball conference with Gonzaga in the mix. TXST needs to get their basketball program in check when we get into the league or we are going to get run out of the gym every year.
Idk how this is a negative for Tech. Get to reunite with Southern Miss, ULM and ULL and Arkansas State. Tech playing Sam Houston or WKU or UTEP draws no attention whatsoever. And this is coming from a TXST fan. Tech seemed like the better fit in the SBC anyway
I do think this is the move they needed to make to get some excitement in the area and I believe it has already. Is it a really significant move? That’s debatable but it’s definitely a step up IMO. I think the PAC 12 can challenge the AAC for the top G6 conference in football and I think it will be a great basketball league. Home games against Gonzaga/SDSU will be great.

Where does Texas State rank in the Austin market? Behind Texas? Behind the Cowboys? Or the Texans? Behind the Rangers? Or the Astros? How much air time do they get on the Saturday night sportscast?

I mean you probably know the answer to this question. TXST is basically on an island. Austin has UT and SA has UTSA/Spurs and San Marcos is right in the middle of those 2 major cities. So they don’t get a lot of media coverage.

You have a university president who actually enjoys school athletics and wants enthusiasm amongst the fanbase, and wants to attract new fans within the Hill Country region.

This new regime is way different than the last regime. Our last regime didn’t care about athletics. They just wanted to get to the FBS but didn’t know what it takes to maintain a FBS program.

Our new president and AD is totally invested in athletics and they both realize that athletics is really the forefront of the university and now the football program is getting much more support now than they did pre covid.

Texas State is a dogshit program in the Sun Belt. They’ll be even more of a doormat now.

Pretty sad how back to back 8-5 seasons is worth more for the PAC 12 than a Sun Belt contending program. Shows where your program stands no matter how good you are. We have way more upside in the future than the Cajuns do.

I would be very worried about your 2nd round matchup. A healthy GSW, LAC, or even Denver matchup would be a coin flip IMO. Me being a Rockets fan I don’t see us getting out of the first round if we play either one of those teams. The Rockets are way too young for a deep run with no playoff experience outside of Brooks and VanVleet
It’s not crazy to think Beard could come to CS if we throw him enough money but our current AD is a cheap arse so I’m not sure if he’s willing to open the bank for him. I would love to have the Tech coach but I don’t see that happening. I think we have a better chance with Beard. If we want to go to the mid major market the UC Irvine coach could be a possibility. He’s won a lot of games there and has been to the tournament a couple of times with a win in the tournament under his belt but he’s been to the NIT a lot.

Buzz definitely hit his ceiling here at A&M. We have no roster for next year and if you look at Buzz’s track record he always tries to find the next job. I feel like he wanted to go to a place that is more dedicated to basketball. But on the flip side I wouldn’t call Maryland much of an upgrade considering what Willard said out the door.
Stick to baseball you fricking swamp trash. Go sit down at the kids table when it comes to basketball

We’re not A&M. The expectations at Texas are higher than just making it to the tournament.

Hahahahaha buddy you’re not Duke, UNC and UK. You have 1 F4 ever and 0 NC’s. No one gives a shite about Texas basketball

Well according to lunardi you’re the last team in the tourney so I would imagine if you make it in he is going to have a job still at the end of the season…so yeah I think that second win was pretty helpful

Congrats on retaining Rodney Terry for another year. You’re welcome

This will be a great bump later

Even as an Aggie fan I would never give Billy Liucci a single penny out of my account. Texags is a giant scam and they are a mockery to journalism.

Billy tries to be more of a celebrity than a journalist
Damn did Johnny give you nightmares when he beat your arse in 2012 & 2013?

If A&M sucks at every sport then what is LSU? You’re at the bottom in basketball, mediocre in football, and just lost to Omaha in baseball ( LMAO) Ohh and scoreboard over you in football and basketball. Maybe you should sit this one out.

Definitely not in football but congrats on the win. You should be thanking us for getting you into the tournament now

I honestly think, and this might be a hot take, that the Thunderbolts will be the best Marvel movie since Endgame. It will be up there with Spider Man No Way Home. I’m not feeling all that great about Captain America right now and we will see about F4 but right now I have a good feeling about the Thunderbolts
I’m so shocked and I am trying to find what makes this trade work and I just can’t find the words. This trade absolutely makes no sense. Are the Lakers just giving up on this season and moving on without LeBron? They now have no center and Luka has been out for most of the season. Obviously they are thinking long term with Luka but it just seems like they are telling LeBron this season is a wash.

For the Mavericks side of things is even worse. Why would they want to rely on 2 32 year old players who have never won anything significant without Lebron? Plus Kyrie can potentially opt out of his deal after this season. You just came off a Finals appearance just a few months ago and now all of a sudden you think Luka will never win anything for you? The whole trade makes 0 sense.
