I think their real floor is 10-3 or something similar. They have all the talent in the world, and they will probably still be a CFP team

This still doesn't make sense to me. It's not like Bama had 85 5 star players. Look at TAMU's recruiting class a couple of years ago and what it produced. You may want to look at the development of the talent Saban recruited instead. Every major college program is going to have talent, it's the COACH that uses the talent the best.

The problem is that college football is less stable. Now is not a good time to have a couple of bad years because in NIL and portal space a few bad years could lead to a bunch of bad years...coupled with the emergence of the super conference which is about 5 years away if that and now is not a good time for a slump by anyone.
