Maybe Cal is changing his approach to recruiting by sprinkling a few more 3-4* in with all of his 5s. Worked for Duke.

Duke landed 4 5 star guys in this class. Their only recruit that wasn't a 5 star, was a 3 star center.

And Duke signed 3 5s and 1 4* the year before. Those freshmen were the reason Duke won it all. Not a KY fan, so I don't know how many schollies they have available, but I can't imagine Coach Cal filling his roster with 6-7 one-and-dones. Seems like he'd need to sprinkle in a few 3 and 4* kids to help build continuity.

I can't tell how facetious you're being but I always figured Kinston as more of a Carolina recruiting hotbed (although I know we've had 2-3 from there as well).

Being completely facetious, I saw that Brandon was from Kinston and wrote him off as a Carolina recruit. I'm only old enough to remember Reggie Bullock and Stackhouse.
You know who his mentor is? Jerry frickin Stackhouse. I'm just tickled that Duke got a guy from eastern NC. I laughed like a mofo when my high school scrimmaged the South Lenoir Blue Devils.

To be fair it is pretty rare to see Cal whiff, but UK is still stacked.
