Unlike you, I'm not going to attempt to speak for my entire fanbase--but I will speak for myself ....
Few things get me more fired up than a Texas Aggie victory.
Few things put me in a worse mood than a Texas Aggie loss.
But at the end of the day, hosting visitors from other schools & sharing cold drinks, good food, and memorable stories are what make game day great for me.
So maybe you nailed it with your post? Because I am happy that my university affiliated with the SEC. And I sure as hell did enjoy the game. Call it little brother (not an insult in my mind) if that works for you; I call it having gratitude for all I've been given.

I didn't expect Bama to crush A&M by multiple touchdowns. I don't know anyone who did except for a few delusional Bama folks on the SECr. That's a totally made up narrative. Most people were talking about how vulnerable Bama has looked going into the game and thought A&M had a legitimate chance at home with Johnny at the helm.

1. EVERYONE and their mother expected Saban to crush us by multi-touchdowns in a near shutout. Bama winning but on our terms (a lot of offense) shows that Saban's defense isn't invincible. Our game will be part of the Oregon/Bama MNC hype.
Which is why the Vegas spread was 7.5

And you obviously didn't spend much time on this board in the offseason.
quote:
2. Its early enough in the season we can still make a BCS game, which is what I realistically expected for the season.
Now this is a good point... your goals and acceptance is not at being champions.
quote:
3. Its obvious when you watch that game we don't have the talent to win it all on defense.
That has been obvious for 9 months yet the arguments raged on this board. All that has changed in the past 72 hours is you guys have finally accepted it.
quote:
LSU can expect a title every year because LSU has been in the top 10 of recruiting for a decade. We have had two good classes, two! We need a few more before I beat myself up about not stopping Bama's running game.
That is what we have been telling you guys for 9 months. Again, I appreciate you coming around.

We are in that league over the past 10 years. Who would you rather be associated with at this point in history
It is funny that you only choose the history of 10 years...you are good and the last decade has been good to you, however, you are still not at the place of ND, USC, BAMA when it comes to "expecting" NC or bust.

No one cares about LSU anymore, it just hasn't hit you yet.

Not according to your average Rantard.

Thank you for continuing to reinforce the stereotype. Any positive discussion of a loss = "moral victories."
The real difference is A&M fans (and most fanbases) can actually discuss different aspects of a game afterwards including what went wrong and what your team did right.
LSU fans on the other hand after a win just talk shite about how they whooped your arse and after a loss bitch and moan about how the coach should be fired, the QB should be benched, and biased scheduling is giving everyone else an unfair advantage.
You really are the stupidest fanbase there is.

How is anyone supposed to KNOW for a fact that our defense is going to be terrible. It's all conjecture until the games start to be played. After witnessing the abortion of our defense, only one logical conclusion remains.
Same way we knew Alabama and Oregon would probably be pretty good. Are you saying no inferences from evaluation can be made before the season starts? You guys lack talent and depth on that side of the ball - the one real playmaker you had you lost. Plenty of threads and discussion on that..... you guys are a few years away on fixing that. That was clear as day. Yet you guys stuck your head in the sand.

I dont know why people think this is a bad thing. We havent done jack shite in a long time.
I agree.

Guess what we havent been there. You all like to remind us that we havent won anything and then you get pissy when we act like teams do when they havent won anything.
Because all offseason you yahoos were talking shite like you were some kind of championship contending force. No one is talking like this about Ole Miss (when they lose). They weren't running their mouths all offseason.

You sure do know a great deal about everything.

I don't care if people care... I care about championships.
You are celebrating Bama fans thinking you were nice and claiming moral victories over a game in which you never had the ball in the 2nd half when the lead was less then 14. You keep caring about being all nice and whether other people care about you - we will focus on championships.

My family and I had a great time at the game. We got into Houston on Thursday night, stayed in League City at South Shore Harbor Resort (beautiful view on the harbor), enjoyed some really great Tex-Mex.
Drove over to CS on Saturday morning and tail-gated with both aTm & Bama fans and enjoyed every minute. I ate bbq'd beef ribs for the first time in my life, and they were fantastic - not the same as our pork version, but damn good food.
Good food, good fans, good atmosphere, good hard- fought game. What more can a football fan ask for?

I would be more upset if we had a great defense and lost.
We don't, so there is no point being pissed off about something we don't have control over.
We are too young on that side of the ball and it will take a season or two to get guys Sumlin recruited into form.
Sorry our fanbase doesn't lash out and against itself like yours does.

That's cool, man. I'm glad. I wish I could feel that way about it. When we play Bama it's all or nothing for me. If we lose, I am one ungrateful SOB.

Wait until JM leaves A&M. They will go back to shite just like Auburn did after Cam left. They are a one-man team just like Auburn was with Cam.

Not everything - I am just smart enough not to spout off about those I don't. Luckily Aggie' defense was about the easiest call in a long time.

OK. I expect championships anyway, but thanks.

LSU fans would never have that attitude. We don't care how many yards we put up against Bama. We don't care how good the game was. We only care about the outcome. There are no moral victories for LSU. Bama fans are the same. It's National Championship or bust.
