I think LSU refused to recognize the SEC’s authority. Again, that’s fine, but it doesn’t come without consequences. This was going to happen to some school at some point, and the powers that be at LSU stubbornly took that risk. It is what it is.

For generally being obstinate. I don’t blame Kiffin or the players who were fighting for their eligibility. I do put some blame on the LSU Administration and the government officials who had an antagonistic posture toward Sankey and the SEC. They could have simply let the case play out without all the rooster strutting, but they tried to stick it in Sankey’s eye, and I don’t think that was very smart. You don’t serve cold gumbo to the SEC and expect to get away with it.

I’m not a lawyer or anyone of note, but this is my interpretation of what the SEC play is aiming to accomplish:

The other SEC schools will vote to expel LSU. They will, however, offer to keep LSU in the SEC if they agree to certain terms. The terms will likely include a suspension for Lane Kiffin, a probationary period for LSU, an apology from the university, and assurances that LSU will comply from here on out and never play the two “pro” players.

Fire away, but I think this is going to end in a conditional expulsion, and it’ll be up to LSU to figure out how to move forward.

By the way, I’m not saying I agree with any of this. I’m just saying that’s the way I think it will play out.

Isn’t that a Coaches job? If it works out, great! If not, at least he tried. That lugnut we had before was content with mediocrity. Kiffin will not stop until he gives his team the absolute best competitive advantage. I’ll take that all day everyday!

You cannot control your legacy. You can control your play on the field. If it turns into a great legacy, that’s not up to you. It’s up to the people who choose to honor you or not. Your only say in your legacy is how you played, and JD played damn good. He gave plenty of reason to have a great legacy, but he’s trying to control it now, and he can’t. He’s only hurting himself in the eyes of the people who do control his legacy. Is that clear as mud?

This is the one thing that Blake Baker’s LSU Defenses have struggled with the most. Will this be the year our Defense finds a way to stop an athletic QB from running all over us?

You’re so right. Kelly would elect to go on offense to start the game, like a total dbag, and we’d trot out there and promptly go 3 and out, and any kind of momentum and confidence was gone. I really hope Lane can a) know what to do when we win the coin toss, and b) make our first possession a confidence boost instead of a total dud.

I’m pretty sure he got that possum in him.
