I'm taking UF. They got consistently better last year as the season went on and that's the sign of a well coached team. Their schedule is brutal again this year, but I look for them to be in every game they play barring an injury to Lagway. I wouldn't sleep on them and fully expect them to upset several teams.
I also expect them to drop a few head scratchers due to Napier's poor game day coaching.

I'm going with Florida, but man, that schedule. It is very realistic; they could be very good and still lose four games because of that schedule.

Well no shite dude. I'm not betting it happens either. My point is that it shouldn't surprise anyone if either or both are really good football teams

IMHO Napier's coaching also has improved. Most forget he's also learning. UF didn't buy a veteran coach and learning pains should be expected. Kirby and Saban also have made some head-scratching decision. Few remember them, but they have.

It’s amazing how OU thinks Venables is Saban 2.0 and won’t say anything negative because “he’s one of them”. Nothing is ever his fault

This nonsense has never existed anywhere in reality from any Sooner fans, and certainly not recently. You're a clown.

Both OU and UF are currently 2nd tier SEC programs.

9-3 is likely the top ceiling for OU and 8-4 is likely the top ceiling for UF.

In contrast, Texas and UGA would both have to do worse than 10-2.

It would take a perfect storm for both of those teams to make it to Atlanta.

Your new QB has played exactly zero snaps as an SEC starting QB and only played against three teams last year that finished with winning records (he played in 11 games).

Playing QB is playing QB. The big bad SEC didn't seem to bother Pavia or any other QBs who have transferred here.

WTF are you talking about?

Idk what y'all are seeing, but proclaiming that Oklahoma has the best players at any position group ahead of the season is 100% based on feelings and not any statistical facts

It's almost like last year when Ole Miss spent a truckload of money on portal players and pundits and Ole Miss fans were claiming they had the best players at multiple position groups and were contenders amirite?

Golding likes the starting 11 and about 4 or 5 subs, last year he said he was comfortable playing 25, so we will not have the depth that we had, but our front 7 should be really good.

Understandable since you likely haven't been paying attention.

There could be a lot of surprised fans in the SEC this season. Auburn’s roster is dramatically upgraded from the past 5 years.

Auburn hasn't had a winning season in like 5 years. They would qualify as a dark horse, but they aren't going to be good enough to win the league.

Auburn could go anywhere from 4-8 to 11-1 this year, depending on what kind of QB play we get. Nothing could surprise me at this point.

Despite last year when OU had their top 6 WR and 4 Olineman out and playing 2 freshman quarterbacks they beat Auburn on the road and was up on Ole Miss at half-time on the road before Jackson Arnold did Jackson Arnold things. I cant see Ole Miss or Auburn winning in Norman this year.

UF has 6 hard games on their schedule.
@LSU
@Miami
Texas
@Tamu
UGA
@Ole Miss

Hard for me to see more than 2 wins there.

OU's isn't easy as you have Texas and @Bama on the schedule. But you get LSU and Mich and Ole Miss at home. @USCe is not easy either. I don't know how good TN is going to be but @TN isn't easy if new QB is serviceable.

I have heard nothing good about AU. I'd go OU with new QB and OC.

The bar started off low, he was absolutely awful his first two seasons at UF. He was pretty bad last year too, barring the LSU and Ole Miss games.

FSU being historically bad helped win that game, it would've been an accomplishment to lose to that dumpster fire of a Nole team. And the Tulane game was pretty poorly coached but fortunately Tulane's starters all opted out.

Perhaps Napier has improved as a game day coach but I'm not convinced that he's any good yet, as last year he had a ton of stinkers, including a few games he was fortunate to win due to the incompetence or poor circumstances of his opponent.s

This "Tier" nonsense is just that, made up nonsense by people on here to separate their team from the pack in their own minds.

There's a top half of the league, and a bottom half of the league. The top half will have more talent and better teams, and the contenders will come from that group annually.

Do you need me to spell it out? Your defense was 29th in PPG allowed and lost multiple NFL-caliber players in the 2025 NFL Draft (Stutsman and Bowman Jr)

You conveniently leave out the 2024 Rebs had a two-year SEC starting QB and other All-SEC players ALREADY ON THE ROSTER when those portal players came to town. Your roster last year was filled with a bunch of chicken-shite players that lost to the likes of Missouri and Navy and barely broke the top 100 in scoring offense. Ole Miss won 11 games two years ago, then added a bunch of highly sought after portal players. Your situation and our situation aren't remotely similar.
