I never said OU couldn't compete, I said OU will not win championships consistently year in and year out like they are accustomed to.

Who is LSUs rivalry game next thanksgiving weekend?
It's down to Oklahoma or Arkansas. All of LSU's other opponents have either had their dates announced (TAMU-10/23 & Bama-11/9) or have a long-established Thanksgiving weekend game that won't move (Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Vandy,)
If it's Oklahoma, LSU will have two Thanksgiving weekend home games in a row.
If it's Arkansas, the Hogs will have two Thanksgiving weekend home games in a row.
Beyond that, we don't know anything.

Your place in this conference will be mid pack..
Champ contenders
UGA, Bama, Texas, LSU
Playoff contenders
Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida, Mizzou, Texas A& M, Oklahoma, Tennessee
Not so much..
South Carolina, Vandy, Kentucky, Miss State, Arkansas
You think OU is going to fall off that much as comparing them to Mizzou, ole Miss, and even A&M? It's funny enough you think this is going to be the norm for Mizzou and Ole miss as playoff contenders but to think Texas is going to be a contender and not OU? Come on man.

I don't get what recruit would ever choose A&M over Texas if they have the ability to go. Plus Texas A&M is an Adidas school.
"Putting the Aggies and Adidas together was a no-brainer for both entities. “The thing about Adidas is they like to go after premier properties, and go on the high end,” said Director of Athletics Ross Bjork. “That's where we are at A&M. We're a premier property.”
I dont know why this quote makes me laugh so much, wonder if Ross Bjork ever asked 18 year old athletes if they prefer nike over adidas haha

Adidas hasn't been a thing since RUN DMC was atop the charts.

They were already the biggest losers before this happens

A&M's success or failure will be independent of tu and OU.

The biggest losers are Texas and Oklahoma.

quote:lol, so aggy has been irrelevant opening up the SEC to Texas recruits the past 12 years? BloU is closer to the rich recruiting grounds of the DFW metroplex than Austin is. Hell, parents from Denton (mid sized city in far North Texas) can attend their son's game in Norman and sleep in their own beds later that same day.
What do Texas, Alabama, LSU, and Georgia all have in common? They have great HS football and own their states in recruiting. Oklahoma does not have great in state talent; you rely on Texas.. Now you have more schools than ever pulling from there. Oklahoma will become a Nebraska with this move.

I hate to defend them, but the truth is the Sooners’ proximity to Dallas HS talent gives them a much better shot at staying competitive than Huskers.

What's "in trouble" is being able to hide-out in a division beating the same old dysfunctional slapdicks every season that bent the knee to your team long ago.

So much misconception.
OU's 2 rivals were historically Texas & Nebraska. Texas rivalry was based on disdain for each other; Nebraska was more about mutual respect. Both were very competitive. Texas and OU still hate each other but have grown some mutual respect in recent years. I see a similar hate/respect with some of you on this board. This may wear off as TX & OU begin SEC play; we shall see.
"OU becoming the next Nebraska" - anyone saying this needs to learn Nebraska's entire situation from the Prop 48/PQs (from which they greatly benefitted), "county scholarships" and all the other shite they exploited. It's apples & oranges wrt OU. Nebbish's success was a thing of the past well before they went to the B10, but that move stuck them in rebuilding mode for what seems like forever. Their brand has disappeared for everyone except a bunch of old farts in Lincoln.

No they won't. Oklahoma owned Texas and A&M in the Big 12. Why? Because they have a functional athletic department that isn't over run by a bunch of boosters who think they know better than the AD. Will they own the SEC? No, but they will be competitive year in and year out. I'm not sure I can say the same for the Texas schools.
