The only other school that is close is Ole Miss with 6.
Oh, and btw, all of these are charter SEC schools, not newbies that think they're due respect that hasn't been earned.
This pretty much sums it all up.
You don't become elite overnight.

You do know football was invented long before 2003, right? If you kept up with football, you'd know programs go through tough stretches. It just so happens that Tenn is going through theirs in the "message board" era. It took almost 100 years for Tenn to have back to back losing seasons. I'm sure you remember well that USCe went 1-21 in a 2 year period just a decade ago. It happens...

Though Kentucky claims a co-championship for 1976 based on State forfeiting their win over Kentucky. Kentucky still lost to the real SEC champ that year: Georgia. The next year Kentucky went undefeated in conference but they were on probation so they couldn't claim a co-championship with Bama (who also went undefeated).

Not upset at all. I know our history. We're bottom rung of the sec. What I don't understand is Tennessee and Georgia fans lumping themselves in with the likes of Alabama Florida LSU, even auburn.

Both Tenn and Georgia have solid all time win percentages. For recent history Tenn and Georgia both have multiple SEC Championships since the start of the SECCG. And Tenn has a BCS championship.
I think the bottom line of the "Big Six" is that there are six teams that over the course of a few seasons realistically expect to be in the SEC Championship hunt.
Arkansas has actually been decent since joining the SEC. They have made 3 SECCG appearances, but they have lost all three, including two blowouts. SC and Miss State have each made one losing appearance. The other teams have never even made it to the show.
