just start arresting people. as someone said earlier the fans dont give a shite about the team repurcussions. if there's a chance of going to jail in baton rouge im not going on the field lol. i wouldnt anyways but you get my point

That's all you have to do. Start arresting people and throw in a trespass for at least a year for campus athletic events and they will stop. Even if you only arrest a few dozen at first people will stop.

Isn’t there an article on the front page of ESPN saying Vandy legalized field storming? I stopped skimming it when it spoke about Vandy prepping the court so they can storm it if they beat Auburn.

Yeah it doesn't actually give details thought just says to give them one minute to get the players off the court . I guess similar to how Clemson lets fans onto the field after every home game after the players leave?

Georgia fans in the ‘80s were basically Arkansas or Ole Miss fans of today. Beating Auburn was literally a Super Bowl win.

Give the Dawg’s their credit. They’ve had our number since 2002.

College kids are gonna storm the court after huge wins. I dont understand this obsession with stopping it. Are people dying? If not, dont worry about it

That definitely cured Bama fans from rushing the field.

Birmingham police beat and arrested some of them and now Bama fans don't rush the field anymore.

Bingo. You’re only young once. Have fun. Old farts don’t storm fields.

Yes. They posted it at the game tonight. Have to wait 1 minute to go on the court. Worked very well tonight.

stop field/court storming

Suck at football & basketball, respectively. LSU has yet to storm the court this season, and they won't

That incident happened because the students couldn't access the field.

quote:

Students attempted to rush the field to celebrate the win, but they were blocked by a chain-link fence that separated the playing surface from the bleachers. However, fans from the upper rows continued to move forward, and the force of gravity caused them to slam into the fans in front, pinning them to the gate.

In total, about 70 people were injured.

Yeah man the students couldn’t access the field because there was a fence around it just like at every school in the SEC . Kids at Auburn got stampeded and broke bones just a few weeks ago before the game.

Also, it didn't effect the visiting team's safety, which is the comment I was replying to.

Right nothing like that has ever happened especially not in the last 12 months

Not angry- pointing out people get seriously hurt during these dumb things . No need for you to act like its never happened to score internet points.

You left off the part where UGA fans were told not to rush the field as well as the water was turned on the UGA fans in the stands because they were shaking the rails loose and damaging property.

Conner: Well, we discussed this at length before the game. We had made up our mind — when I redid the field and got it in good shape, we weren’t going to let the fans on it. They could destroy more grass than the players during the game. We told them (Georgia fans) ‘don’t go on the field, you’re not going to be allowed on the field.’ But they went on there and so we opened it up on them and got them a little wet. Coach Dye laughed about it, he said they needed a bath anyways.

“Conner: They were grabbing at the turf. They wanted a piece of the grass. Only a few of them got out there, but some of them got real wet in the stands, some who weren’t leaving. They didn’t like that. It took a while to get them out of there. Some of them in the stands shook the rails loose on one end. They (the cannons) turn 360 degrees. You could turn them all the way around, you know. We didn’t have full pressure on them ‘cause there wasn’t enough pressure to run all of them.”

A million-dollar fine in football and it is given to the losing team being engulfed. Being able to then turn around and buy a good defensive tackle feels like the proper consolation prize. Of course only the best teams will ever see any of this revenue, so the rich get richer and BAMA wins even when they don't.
