The all in gamble by LSU and the Executive of Louisiana

Here is the reason LSU can't let Saturday go. They absolutely went all in on Lane. When BK was fired all the decision makers were saying that contracts with huge buyouts were crazy. It was a huge issue and cost them tons of money with Ed O (Just finished paying his buyout a year ago) and just then with BK. Rational human being were rightfully saying "We aren't going to do this again".

But then the NEED to win game up through the fanbase and boosters. The "Cheap" young up and comer hire wasn't good enough. So the decision makers and Governor stepped up to take a gamble.

They saw little ole Ole Miss win the 3rd most games in the country over the last 5 years and said "Lets make a run at that guy. If he did that there, he absolutely will win multiple championships here at LSU. The cost will be worth it. We won't have to worry about the buyout".

So they did. They threw 91 million dollars at Lane. Then when the original budget was 30 million they found the other 20 million for him to overpay to put a competitive roster on the field. Then sold shares to future TV revenue to get another 100 million to get cash flow into the athletic department.

Why do they care about Ole Miss? The who theory the gamble was based on was that the success Ole Miss had was 90% Lane Kiffin. He was the whole reason. If Ole Miss continues to win, that proves that theory false. They are already in for 200 Million + on the hopes this man can win multiple Natties in BR. It can't be Lane isn't a great coach. There has to be a reason Ole Miss didn't fall off the planet.

So yes, Saturday was a big deal for them. They may have misjudged the gamble. Hell the governor bet on him to win re-election. The cracks are starting to show. And everyone else is here for it.
