Welcome to the SEC. You won't see a whole lot of PC'ness here. I look forward to our game !

That's good! Cheers! And ditto! May make the trip to Baton Rouge for it this season.

No it happened up until the Mid-2000's. They also hung out around Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville and other hot spot places. But when I was in school (99-04) it was the West End the Friday night before the game.

Got it . . .I had moved out of Dallas around 2000 and did not get back for some time and the West End was dead and gone by the mid 2010s. It was definitely the place in my high school years.

My Dad and Grandad were both Sooners and my Dad loved this weekend.

I will say that moving it to Jerry World would have sucked the life out of the event. It is as much about the State Fair and the fall weather as it is the state of the football teams.

Still, Aggy/Horn is deeper. The hate is vicious. I live in Houston. I'm around both fanbases.

It's no different than our Bedlam rivalry. it's just the 'in-state rivalry'. You're around those people all the time. Like we are here in Oklahoma with Okie Lite fans. I'm in Tulsa.. I'm around waaay more Okie Lite fans on the regular here. But OU/TX is STATE Pride. Little different.

Yeah West End is a memory nowadays I agree. I'm not one to go party and stir up the shite in the party the night before anymore so I don't really know where everyone gathers for the annual trash talk anymore. When I go down I usually hang with my friends are the Gaylord Texan or a Cigar Bar somewhere.

Yeah we're all glad they haven't moved it to Jerry World (I hate that place with a passion) and you're right, it would have destroyed the vibe entirely.

But I have talked to many a Texas fan and they consider aTm like we considered OkieLite

TX/OU are most definitely rivals. There is mutual respect when it comes to athletics but the disdain is real. A&M/TX just hate each other, but there needs to be some level of historical success for schools to be rivals, and there has been very little at A&M.

I guarantee the state of Texas football fans will care less about the OU/Horn game than Aggy/Horn. It won't be close. The buildup between the two games won't be in the same atmosphere. And, if Elko beats Sark, yikes.

For the first couple years that game will be more anticipated because it hasn't happened in a decade. After awhile it will fall into its place as a close second.

Nope.

Louisiana boys wear rubber boots to wash off the shite we step on playing teams like Texas.

If we are just talking football, OU tU is a bigger rivalry from a pure competitive standpoint and cross state bragging rights from t-shirt fans. Beyond that, A&M - tU is encompasses everything in state. . Win or lose, one side will never hear the end of it. Proximity breeds contempt.

Negative. The RRS is far more important than anything involving aggy.

Yeah, sure seems like it....NOT. OU and Utx seem more like butt buddies than rivals.

Nope. A respected rival. Making this junk to the SEC together kinda forced us to lock arms as we left the Big12 but we’ll be back to hating on each other soon. The A&M rivalry certainly got more heated though.

BlowU dick rides texas to stay relevant. They see what happened to Nebraska when cut off from TX exposure and recruiting. Blow U no matter how many wins will always be nothing but texas’s little bitch.

They need to pull some shady shite on an SEC school to make it real.

OU is decent people. They won't do that.

tu is an institution that has historically had overwhelming advantages that are fading rapidly. It is ingrained in them that they are never happy unless they are stirring shite and yuking it up about screwing somebody around.

But they are in a much bigger pond now and they gonna get a chunk bitten out of their own arse soon enough.

Our rival is OU. We hate them.
A&M is the school we laugh at.

You can have more than 1 rival. Historically the game with OU has been more impactful on a national level. I hate losing any games, and that includes OU, A&M, and Arkansas.
