Yes they made it twice, as in Texas.... Tech and A&M.

re: Texas AM should be 6 not ole miss

I don't have an issue with ole miss being ahead of us. My issue is with oregon at number five. They should be number seven.
How are we comparing these 11–1 teams without talking about conference depth? The Big Ten is solid, but the SEC still has a deeper lineup top to bottom.

Just look at the current CFP top 15 ahead of final poll— the SEC has Georgia (#3), Ole Miss (#6), A&M (#7), Oklahoma (#8), Alabama (#9), Texas (#13), and Vanderbilt (#14) Seven teams. On a week to week basis, no other conference has to deal with anything close to week-to-week SEC competition. Granted you don't have to play all the top teams record wise, but the talent on the rosters is there regardless of w/l records.

If Ole Miss had Oregon’s schedule, they’re probably 12–0. A&M likely goes 11–1 or 10-2. But if Oregon had to run the either Ole Miss or A&M's schedule, they’re not coming out with one loss. I see 2 or 3 losses with both schedules.

Consistency: If the committee is using the coaching change to justify keeping Ole Miss behind Oregon, then A&M should be ahead of Ole Miss too. They didn’t do that. So the logic only applies when it keeps Oregon at #5, which makes no sense.

Next year the SEC moves to a 9-game league schedule, and this problem gets worse — more brutal games, more “good” losses, and more teams in other conferences cruising to cleaner records.

IMO, the order should be:
5. Ole Miss
6. Texas A&M
7. Oregon
The committee has no consistency and makes up sh*t as they go.
Yeah...not saying they should get left out, but wondering if their position at 8 locked in. Could any of the others move up a spot and OU slides to 9 or 10.
Not trolling, If we are comparing resume's, eye test, etc.... is OU locked in at 8? They didn't look too great in their last game, they have 2 losses just like ND/MIAMI/BYU/Vandy/ and did not play in the SEC Championship game.

For the sake of discussion, is it possible the 2 loss team comparison expands to include them and one of the other listed teams move into the 8 spot?
Winning the SEC matters. Bama at 11-2 would get a bye over the rest of the SEC in my opinion.
Take care of biz and it will work itself out. I do see the OP's point but the committee has plenty of time to fix it and get it right in their final rankings. Some of this is probably just to spark conversation.

If you put all of that together, It was a good read.
Can't speak for others but it's a friendly rivalry for me. I was born in Houston but my family roots on my mother's side is in Cajun country. I have relatives and friends who are LSU grads. We were actually happy we could enjoy routinely playing each other in the SEC. I root for LSU sometimes. Can't stand anything associated with t.u except for the Hill country west of the Colorado River.
Tigers looking better by the week. I'm giving them the edge in this one. Just hoping we get some night time Kyle Field Magic and come away with the win. Really liking what Elko is building regardless of outcome. He's solid.
Kinda sucks but enough of the crying. If roles were reversed we'd be throwing a parade. Time to regroup and move on.
If we are just talking football, OU tU is a bigger rivalry from a pure competitive standpoint and cross state bragging rights from t-shirt fans. Beyond that, A&M - tU is encompasses everything in state. . Win or lose, one side will never hear the end of it. Proximity breeds contempt.
Like others, I previously could have cared less after we exited the Big 12. Texas threw a tantrum and discontinued the game. However, being that they are now in SEC, OF COURSE we want them as a perm opponent. I didn't want the game to end in the 1st place.

As for the lopsided historical record folks like to throw around, I don't give a damn about that. In My Lifetime, and I been on this earth 43 years, Texas A&M LEADS the series 17-16.
For Texas A&M, I'd swap in Arkansas in place of Mizzou and have Mizzou play Texas.
Don't have a fav 2nd team... But I don't mind seeing Georgia and Florida have some athletic success. Maybe Mizzou too
No way OU chokes this away. Congrats

Wow... these errors hurt! Beating themselves.
LOL, OP hasn't updated the score since Aggies tied it up then took the lead.
