Travel + Leisure should probably stick to just that. 30 miles from the city ain't a suburb. Unless you drive in a circle you are basically in another county.
I'm with my buddy on this one. 30 miles out isn't a suburb. Maybe, maybe, if you live in California where everything is far away and sucks. Otherwise its a small town.

About 60% of St. Louis metro is well above average - very nice.

You tell me, you're apparently some kind of expert.
Never claimed to be an expert. Just asking you if you really think people in the suburbs are trashy for not wanting their kids shot as opposed to those living in Baton Rouge proper that have done nothing about the violence for decades.
You said:

They're all trashy.
I just wanted to confirm that you seemed to be stating that all people in Baton Rouge are trashy (those in the suburbs and those in the city proper). Are you getting confused with what I asked or with what you said?

100 years, eh?
The pic below must be your relatives....from the family tree of Shar-Pei's. Which one is YOU?

You are really taking a passing comment way too much to heart.
Do you live in St George or somehting? I can't imagine who else would get their panties in a wad over an innocuous statement. It's not that serious, bro.

Went to the PGA Championship in 2018 and West St Louis around Bellerive CC and St Louis CC is absolutely amazing. A different country than East St Louis which is pretty much Trenchtown, Jamaica of the USA.

Must have confused Brentwood for Clayton.

They've obviously never been to Brentwood, Franklin or Leipers Fork, TN.

In other words people trying to sell shite in these
suburbs. There are at least a thousand suburbs in this
country that are indistinguishable from the other.

Yea Williamson County in general is beyond excellent of a place to live and raise a family.
The greenery and rolling hills, endless classy neighborhoods any person would be blessed to grow up in, a school system that provides virtually as good of an American public education as one can get, being either less than like 5 miles away at most from every restuarant/shopping in the world in Cool Springs and just a quick 10/15 mile 1-65 shot to wherever in actual Nashville, common sense-ibly ran city govts that makes residents actually feel like their tax dollars are being spent on things that make sense, very nice people generally outside of the handful of stereotypical rich entitled snobs you see in any affluent community anywhere on Earth, ect
I thank God all the time that I was fortunate enough to grow up in a community as supportive and safe as Brentwood. Cool Springs traffic sucking and cops having way too much time on their hands because generally there's literally no crime that all they seemingly do is patrol for ticky tac speeding violations 24/7 are my only real complaints about the area.

Since when do people brag about living in a suburb

#1.....Johns Creek, GEORGIA (suburb of ATLANTA)
I grew up in Johns Creek before it became a massive fricking parking lot. Milton is where it's at now.

Owning property there is not the same as living there, thank God.
As a fellow Kennesaw native I will take KT's side on this. As recently as 20 years ago, it was still a really nice place to live and raise a family with moderate traffic, plenty of conveniences but still some open spaces and cow pastures, decent commute to ATL proper, good mix of starter homes all the way up to country clubs and estate mansions, and so forth. That's not what Kennesaw is now. It's just a paved suburb now. There's so much fricking pavement now, Allatoona creek running behind my dad's house that I grew up in, floods several times a year. It used to only flood every 5 years or so. No, it's not climate change. It's hundreds of thousands of acres of dirt that used to soak up rain is now pavement and anything more than an inch of rain an hour puts the creek over its banks.

Nothing necessarily bad about Coppell, but it is essentially an industrial park near DFW Airport full of 1980s McMansions. Not sure how it made this list.
Lots more 1990's mcmansions in Coppell than 80s.
I have lived in Coppell in the past, and it is a sneaky nice place to live and raise a family. Great schools, excellent park system, and youth sports facilities. A big part of the allure is that the residential part is pretty tucked away from highways or other major roads. So unless you live or spend a lot of time there, you'd never really see it just passing by. It's pretty insulated from the hustle and bustle around it, which can be nice in DFW.

Thought the same thing.
But I would not want to live in John’s Creek.

That other 40% drags it all down too much to be considered as a “best place to live”.

Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes all the same
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same
And the people in the houses
All went to the university
Where they were put in boxes
And they came out all the same
And there's doctors and lawyers
And business executives
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same
And they all play on the golf course
And drink their martinis dry
And they all have pretty children
And the children go to school
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university
Where they are put in boxes
And they come out all the same
And the boys go into business
And marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same
There's a pink one and a green one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same
