Hahahaha. Surprise surprise, just proving these ranking are correct. They do have it wrong though. Louisiana and Alabama should be reversed. Louisiana is absolutely 50.

Oh and as soon as any state sends men to the moon and brings them back like the State of Alabama has done, let me know.

I sure struck a nerve with you. You had to go way back. Like 2003 back. I understand that though. You have to go way back when Arkansas was revelant. Man, how time has changed!!!
Wait... you said something stupid. I corrected you. Therefore you struck a nerve with me.
Unh hunh. That is... one way to look at things.

The states were ranked on performance in higher education as well as primary and secondary schooling and pre-K education. The measures included percentages of adults with associate degrees or higher, the rates of students completing public four-year and two-year college programs within 150 percent of the normal time, the average tuition and fees for in-state students at public institutions and the average debt load of graduates from public and private colleges. The states also were ranked on percentages of children enrolled in preschool and compared in national testing of eighth-graders in math and reading, in rates of graduation from high school and readiness for college.
So basically, this article assumes those who spend the most money on it must be the most educated.
By this logic, the daughter of Lori Loughlin must be a super genius.

Where do you think the Saturn rocket was tested?
We also performed the first lung and heart transplants, and built the first nuclear submarine.
Oh, and for the Aggies - we also cured HIV (you're welcome).

What is telling to me is Alaska, New Mexico, Nevada, Rhode Island, and Arizona in that bottom ten. Those are pretty homogenous states. I’m not sure what area it would be Louisiana, but I’d bet on the Alabama black belt and Mississippi delta tend to drag public education way down.

Alabama is brought down by debt owed and attainment of the degree at the college level and . . . for outright shameful non-existent programs for pre-K, reading, math, and readiness programs. Heck, there is no score listed for high school graduation rates.
I saw a graph one time that if you cut out all the counties from south of Tuscaloosa, to north of Mobile, to west of Montgomery (though you should probably include the public schools from there), Alabama would be middle-to-upper middle of the pack nationally.
I personally think it is worse than that.

Lol. Mississippi and Louisiana have fluctuated between 49 and 50 over the past decade. I think it’s a little premature to say y’all are out of the danger zone just because y’all made it to 48. You could easily be 50 next year just like you were when y’all made it to 49.

I think it's 46 but it doesn't matter. Things like this changes yearly and uses demographics to make their cases. Mississippi and Arkansas rotates in obesity. The same can be said about poverty. The southern states are usually in the bottom 1/4 of each category
