This is a good weekend to make money if you can get it right

I like it because it’s we are not playing and I can watch more games.

Damn I love College Football

I don’t give 2 cents about any other sports and the season ends way too soon for me.

I am cautiously optimistic that Texas will play a complete game. If we do, we win.

Texas is strong, and deep, on the DL & OL, and I think that is where the game will be won. Every QB we’ve played has been on the run all day long, and I don’t see that changing.

Momentum in this game changes like a light switch. I like Sarks offense over Venables defense

I guess I just have Texas sized PTSD from the last 13 years. I feel like any week I'm gonna say yep there's the Texas team I know and love. I'm cautiously and I repeat cautiously optimistic.

I’ve seen a few bad losses. I’m never confident about this game.

which is why JT playing is so important.. BV defense has a weakness in the middle of the field, but you have to be able to take advantage of it

I think we will win but I am far from thinking it is a sure thing. All season, Texas fans have been waiting on Sark to Sark. It could happen on Saturday.

We will all feel very confident going forward if Texas wins on Saturday.

This game is never a sure win for either team. I'm nervous as hell.

Texas is like Tennessee when it comes to that.
We have been waiting and hoping year after year coach after coach.
Last year we had probably the best offense in the country.
But we had the worst Defense in the country.
This season we have mostly young players with a decent QB just depends on which way the wind is blowing. He is a pocket passer only it seems even though the kid can run he just chooses not to.
Time will tell we starting to ge into the meat of our schedule now.

Texas has a pretty fair talent advantage on the LOS & playmakers, OU will need to scheme masterfully and win the turnover, big play battle decisively to win.

Venables has done a lot in short time, may not be enough for this year though.

Texas is a much better team, but you NEVER bet on this game even if one team is ranked #1 and the other is unranked and under .500. You just don't. Anything can happen any year. Could be 21-20 or 49-0. Who knows.

I think a lot has been made of a win against a very marginal Bama team.

If Texas does blow out OU they are for real. Like win a title for real. But if they don’t, it simply means they are overrated and likely got a highe bump from beating an average Bama team.

We shall see. We will learn a lot about both school’s Saturday.

What I’m going to say is not any different than most. I feel we have the advantage. If we play within the general level we have been, we win the football game. This team shows a lot of poise, discipline and x-factors we just haven’t seen in ages. It’s that, maybe even more so than the talent level, that makes me feel good overall this season.
I still have the PTSD feeling too and wonder when or if it will reveal itself again. If we solidly beat OU it will be hard to doubt this team moving forward. It doesn’t mean they can’t lose - but if the Bama win expelled a lot or doubt - a win here will expel a good portion of the rest of it. Again the poise and playing with just the right level of emotion this year has been a big take for me. Ball control, no stupid penalties and an overall good mentality during the game has been impressive. In all five games before there had been a single commonality - utilizing our skill and depth to wear down the opponent and to create a huge advantage in the last quarter. Texas has really owned every team they play in the last quarter, which ironically is the opposite of what we had been seeing for a long time, which was losing single score games and blowing leads in the second half. If Texas plays a game where they are firing on all cylinders out of the gate it will be difficult for anyone to beat us.

The better team doesn’t always win this game.

This is something OU folks know very well—since 2000, Texas has had a better team than OU only three times (2005, 2009, and last year), but they’ve beaten us five* additional times as well.

Assuming we are indeed the worse team (which isn’t for sure but appears to be the case for now), we owe them an upset.

* forgot about 2013

Are you saying that Texas is 4-0 when favored since 2000? That’s an interesting stat if true, and gives me a lot more confidence going into the game as well. We didn’t just win those games..

2005 45 - 12
2009 16 - 13 * only close game
2013 36 - 20
2022 49 - 0

Interesting stat indeed.. perhaps it is a good bet this weekend.. but you are warned if you do..

I can't think of another big college FB rivalry with this same dynamic

The Iron Bowl and Egg Bowl have the same dynamic. Throw the records out the window as they are not predictive of the outcome.

It’s going be very interesting next year when you 2 are in the SEC.
You will see some other heated rivalries too.
Nearly every SEC team has 1 or 3 to be exact.
Back when we had a solid team year in tear out . Ours was Bama Fla Ga in that order.
Then it became more of a hate Fla thing just because we just can’t never beat them.
Now we are hoping to get back in the mix the next couple years .

I've watched lots of OU highlights and watched the Iowa State game. They are a really good team, despite the weak schedule. I just think Texas has the talent on defense to force Gabriel out of his comfort zone and outside of his abilities. That plus Texas being better on both lines gives me a lot of confidence in a Texas victory.
