IMO, the Aggie weakness is the secondary, very exploitable. The big Texas weakness is who will play QB, Jekyl or Hyde.

Ignoring the obvious sip trolls there's three things we have to fix that have plagued us since USCe and probably all year.
1: red zone efficiency. We've cratered here, whether it be from inexperience at QB, to the loss of moss, or a loss of confidence, sometimes has to change.
2: Receiver corp making big catches. Our receivers have been lack luster all year. In both the USCe and auburn games we dropped big conversions passes that had game altering consequences. I'm not sure what Holman Wiggins is getting paid for but it ain't coaching.
4: secondary defense on the long ball. We give up way too many single pass yards on the long ball. All Ewers has to do is lob it to the post every other series and he'll make a game scoring pass.
I'm pessimistic that any changes will happen in any of those three things so I'm giving us about a 35% chance to win. Elko has not impressed me in his ability to overcome personel challenges.

In addition to our secondary, our overall tackling has been arse lately. Tx will bloe you out quickly if you can't tackle. This is my biggest worry.

A&M Defense
1. Tackle Damn it! Minimize YAC.
2. Scheme and minimize mismatches with Texas receivers and A&M
Linebackers. Texas TE and RBs will pick on A&M LBs.
3. Do your job and defend your assignment. Do not get caught up in the
misdirection Texas will throw at you.
4. Stop with all the stunting on the defensive line. A&M has a pretty good
D- Line and needs to just let the D-Line be what they are. Straight up
go after the guy with the ball.
5. Enough with the stupid penalties.
6. Tackle Damn it! Minimize YAC.
Texas Defense
1. Stop the run! Stop the run! Stop the run!
2. Corral Reed and make him beat you with his arm, not his legs.
3. Ball hawk Reed passes.
4. Use Texas team speed to frustrate A&M offense. A&M hasn't played a team with Texas D-Speed.
5.Stop the run!
6. A&M has nothing to lose and everything to gain with this game, be aware of special teams shenanigans.
A&M Offense
1. Run that damn thing! Texas has issues stopping the run. Run the ball, control the clock, and keep the ball away from the Texas explosive offense. Help your defense.
2. A&M has a kicking advantage, use it. Stoops mad a career at OU out kicking the opposition. A&M punting game is worth 80-100 yards per game. A&M can maximize field position in a tight game, which this most likely will be.
3. Play action pass after establishing the run. Sounds like Captain Obvious, but if the run can be established, the pass will be good even with the sub-par receivers and route running. Texas D will creep up and bite on the run option.
Texas Offense
1. Misdirection! A&M will be chomping at the bit to prove their D. Let them chase the laser beam like a cat.
2. Protect the QB. I want Archibald to play more in this game, but I ain't Coach.
3. Determine if Texas O-line can pound A&M D-line. Texas is big and athletic up front on offense. Texas has controlled the LOS and run the ball to win ball games in the 4th quarter.
4. If the above fails, go hurry up offense.
5. Connect on the long pass and use the receiver advantage. Texas is chock full of good to great receivers, use them. Apply a lot of pressure on the A&M secondary. This ties in with protect the QB.
6. Texas has a pretty good punt returner in Silas Bolden. Set up the return and see what he can do.
7. I think Sark has learned and accepted, that with the D Texas has, Texas can take a strong lead in the 3rd quarter, then take the air out of the ball and run the ball and clock. This works, worked for Saban, Laundry, Lombardi, all the coaches that have ever won in mass do this.Sark needs a different attitude "All gas no brakes", frick THEM BRAKES! Recruits are watching, Texas needs to pour it on!
And that's all I have to say about that.
one last thing that just hit me to watch for, which will tell the tale....
Texas team speed vs. A&M on both sides of the line.
Texas offensive motion and receiver play vs. A&M defense.

I think the game is gonna come down to the trenches. If A&M can get after the QB, it could be a long night for Texas. If our OL gives Quinn/Arch time, it’s gonna be a long night for A&M.
That being said, if Texas blocks well this game they should win the Joe Moore award.

Really good post, probably best one on this thread. But I do disagree with this point:
Everyone likes to bag on ND but their defense is nasty and fast. So we've definitely seen one at least as good if not better than what Texas has.

Absolutely true. Kyle will be the loudest you’ve ever seen. There are 40k more seats than 2012. If you thought it was loud before it’s actually louder now. And yeah, every single Aggie no matter how old will be yelling their arse off.

And you will still lose fig

Just my opinion but I think the Aggies will win this. More battle tested than Texas because of a harder schedule.

First 10 min of the game will be huge, if Texas can score a TD on one of the first two drives it will really help take the crowd down a notch. If A&M stuffs them for a couple drives, the crowd starts feeling it and the pressure on Ewers means a huge mistake is likely, which is the deciding factor.
A&M wins this game

A&M schedule is nominally more difficult, but we beat all mutual opponents by more in even single game

Did you have a football comment?

I noticed that Sark calls a ton of screen passes to try to slow down the pass rush. It’s a smart strategy.
A&M has to tackle well overall, but specifically the defense has to have a plan to defend the screen pass.
That is the key to the game in my opinion.

It boils down to one thing really. Can Ewers beat us with the deep ball? We are vulnerable there. Our run defense will stop you. But you can beat us deep with a QB that has that ability. Unfortunately that is not Quinn. He misses receivers when pressured. We will struggle to score because our offense sucks.

Texas has run the ball well lately
I think that will continue vs A&M. Need to hang on to the ball though

If we don't turn the ball over, I think we can squeak it out. I really like our defense in this game. I think our offense will struggle.
But...when Texas loses (to aggie or other), I already know what the game will look like.
* Quinn will get pressured and the yips cause a sack or throw-away when the replay shows a wide open receiver. Ends another drive.
* One of our RB's will fumble on a key drive.
* We get a nice drive going but a holding penalty brings back a big gain, backs us up, and force a long fg or punt.
* We play field position in a defensive battle and our punter kicks a few 35 yarders while the opposition's kick 50 yarders. Pretty soon, they are at midfield without moving the ball.
* We miss a chip shot 40-yard field goal to regain the lead late.
I know nobody has a perfect team, but all of these things have reared their ugly head at multiple times this year. And will likely get us beat eventually.
