He said tentatively doesn't mean he is backing out. And we the point is we actually schedule these games tin OOC to begin with unlike many other top 25 teams. Tech has had ample chances to beef their OOC schedule up (just like Indiana did) and they choose not to. For Indiana it worked out well, for Tech they were exposed immediately. The difference is the committee doesnt know the difference and doesnt care anymore about SOS as evident from the meetings yesterday and last years 12 team playoff picks.

SO playing ND, or OSU (I would have prefferred to cancel if it wasnt a home game this yeaR) or even Tech is much greater risk than reward as Texas found out last year losing in Columbus week one.

That said, why the hell shouldn't we cancel under the current system? If we had beat Florida, we're in the playoffs. Zero reason to play big OOC games, especially with a 9 game conference schedule.

It’s why Ole Miss refuses to play Southern Miss in football.

Not true. OM plays an incredibly weak OOC schedule. USM is incredibly weak in football. OM is scared to get that L from lowly USM.

What did OM gain from playing Wofford last year?

Yes, winning any of the 3 games we lost would've had us in the playoffs. Great work.

But again we can only control our OOC schedule, so there's zero reason to schedule losable games in this era because SOS does not matter.

he was saying that SoS should matter

What he doesn't seem to grasp is the fact that he lost to Ohio State, a month later he lost to Florida who was not even ranked and lost twice as many games as they won. Then he almost lost to Kentucky and State, both of which had losing seasons.

If SoS matters, then almost losing to crappy teams on your schedule matters too.

Coach McGuire has talked to Texas State & Abilene Christian & would love to buy out those games to play Texas this season in Week 1. If not Lubbock, then @ATTStadium

Why not in Austin if he wants to play them so badly?

Great PR move but it’s nothing but blustering. Writing checks you know you will not have to cash is sad cowardice. Tex claiming it’d be in the playoffs with techs scheduling (knowing they won’t have to prove it) and tech saying fight me right here right now or you’re a puss(knowing they just don’t have time to make that happen) is classic lone star state look at me but don’t make me do anything bout it ego off.

You truly are a Texas obsessed imbecile

A&M nearly lost to 3 of the bottom 4 in the SEC last year. A year in which they played no one in conference, except Texas, who bitch-slapped you
