How can they possibly identify which students threw something onto the field?

I was in a corporate suite in the Zone at Kyle field about five years ago…with 100,000 plus in attendance that day. I was sent a pic of me standing behind the glass clearly visible, from a friend 250 miles away….Lots of nervous sugar daddies with their “nieces” in their private corporate boxes when word of that bit of technology got out. The technology for security reasons has been in place for years at major sporting events.

Damn, I'd seen some 360 pics from A&M games before from about 10 years ago that were pretty impressive w/detail but I didnt realize these had gotten so fricking clear.

Also, I think I found some people in the middle of a fight.

They were throwing crap into an empty end zone, yes it’s trashy but it’s not like they were throwing things at opposing teams players or the bench area

The aluminum beer can thrown onto the field was nearly full. Georgia pulled their players away from the sideline because some stuff got thrown at them. Letting it go on will result in rocks and other hard objects next time. Ban students for the rest of this season and next, and assign them to duty cleaning toilets in dorms and classrooms for the rest of the year.

Oh hell, Imber, that's easy peasy. They were the ones wearing burnt orange.

Seriously, another poster said since the only ones throwing stuff on the field were doing it in the endzones then it should be okay.

Watching on television you could see BOTH teams had moved out onto the field I suspect because it got them a little farther from the stands and potentially being nailed with whatever debris was being thrown.

Even the cheerleaders were out there picking up the stuff to clear the field.

As for how to identify them, people shown during a telecast are easily identified all the time.

Unless they had the presence of mind to be masked up before being caught in the act of throwing something by the tv cameras they have reason to expect to be punished.

Any fan, regardless if a student or not, should be banned for life from ever attending another game at the stadium. If you can't control your emotions enough that you are hurling items onto the field then you don't belong in the seats. This time no one was hurt, what about the next time you lose your cool?

Technology

As I understand it the students don't have assigned seats. It's first come, first served. So first you would have to identify the individuals on video who threw something onto the field and then what, some facial recognition thing where you compare the video to their student IDs? That's some CIA level shite just to identify who threw a water bottle onto the field.

It really wouldn't be all that hard to do honestly unless they have a hat or paint on. The tedious part would be only finding the throwers.

That's pretty shitty. UTrans gives their students some of the shittiest seats in the stadium and makes them fight for their spots. How big is the student allocation of tickets? 10k? 20k?

Stay classy UTrans

I think Baylor might do that as well?

I really don't understand why some of these schools are fine w/students all bum rushing the stands to get to their seats. Seems like a dumb way to end up w/an inevitable crush and/or trampling situation.

Hey man, you not gonna get any arguments from me. We use to get assigned and guaranteed seats if we got the student ticket package based on classification.

This was where my assigned seats were in 2016 against Notre Dame.
