The only thing Texas needs is a dog at qb who doesn't shite himself when facing a really good defense and perhaps a little more sophisticated run game. It seems like Sark doesn't quite know what to do if the run gets shut down with the front 4 because his scheme really puts a lot of pressure on linebackers and dbs.

They have the best defense in the country right now however. Be a shame if they didn't at least make a run. I feel like they should handle Clemson.

I was listening to the OTF podcast last night on the way home, and Bob Shipley had a great idea imo.

He said.. "If Banks can come back this year, Texas needs to figure out a way to get Goosby on the field at the same time. Maybe that is LG, RG or RT.. but that guy needs to play."

Banks - X - Majors - Y - Z

X = Goosby or Conner

Y = Goosby or Campbell or Williams

Z = Goosby or Williams

I like the idea of it. Goosby has certainly been impressive so far.

Can’t disagree. It’s not a philosophy thing though. RB injuries left the room pretty bare, although Wisner stepped up as the season wore on.

Against UGA, the o line got manhandled in the running game. Simple as that.

Stop it. Nobody on their DL made an ALL-SEC team. Your DL thoroughly outplayed them in both games...And you'd agree that this UGA DL is not nearly as talented as the '21-22 UGA editions. They have a well-coached, talented defense but TX DL is far from "ridiculous"....

Georgia Tech is also SEC ready. Refs robbed them of a victory over UG.

Sad.

The Texas D line was very large, and they could run too. They were some pretty looking athletes. i guess we will have to agree to disagree.

There's some truth to this. Vs Georgia it seemed like they were expecting the standard clog up the middle and finesse moves trying to get to the QB from the edge...as in they weren't ready for the ferocious animals trying to break through their barrier.

Texas had back to back top RB in NFL draft between Bijan Robinson and Jonathan Brooks.

Sucks this year we lost our top RB before the season but agree it’s a weakness. But it hasn’t been under Sarkisian until this year.

Our real biggest weakness this year has been special teams (kicker and punter)

Andrew Mukuba is a one man wrecking crew. And no, it wasn’t targeting.

Etienne's 4 rushing TDs in two games was more than their entire offense scored against you. The NFL scouts & SEC coaches agree with me - TX DL is nothing special...

Don't care one way or the other, would have been a 2 yd penalty and I think Targeting called on non head hunting plays is for pussies. But there is an angle where his helmet collides with Stockton and he followed with a forearm shiver.

Compared to most college teams, Texas has one less player for LBs to worry about, and that's the QB. So it's easier to key-off and stuff the run.

All it takes is for Arch to keep and scamper 50 yards a couple times and suddenly our entire run game would be back in business.

Texas ran the ball fine against them in the first half

Huh???? You had me to that point, but No. That was not the case. Not sure where you got that analysis, but no one who watched the game would come away with that opinion.

The difference in this league and others is athleticism at the DT position.

It’s key then, that your interior guys play with such fire and viciousness from the first whistle that you break their will and burn up their legs so they can’t jail break in the 4th.

That’s why cute playcalling isn’t how I’d start off the SECCG, even if it means punting a few times. Punch them in the mouth over and over and over until a few start to land and you draw blood. And if your dudes won’t do that, find some who will.

That’s the legacy of SEC football & how you finish drives in the RZ.

His partner back there Michael Taafe (our McHonkey) can also dish out some pops from time to time. Best secondary we've had since Colt McCoy was still in school...and in some ways better.

Beck disagrees. And his replacement has trouble keeping his hat on.

See you again if you can limp your way to a rematch.
