Looks like this thing just got a little more interesting. Might not be as done of a deal as we all assumed as according to our A&M friends, Texas doesnt have the members in the legislature that they normally do.

What school did he go to/where does he live?
Baylor grad. He knows Baylor will not get an invite to any major conference of the Big XII (-2) dissolves.

LOL @ Baylor
Maybe focus on going a couple of years without players killing each other or a massive rape scandal

Ofcourse it was never a done deal. That's the only reason we're hearing about it.

Im sure there are plenty of others that will propose the same thing. Not sure if they can stop it or not, but looks like they sure as frick are going to try.

I, for one, can't wait for the next iteration of the Perryman Report. A&M leaving was projected to cost the state over 3000 jobs.

Given how much more important tu is than A&M (don't take my word for it, just ask a sip), I can only imagine the state of Texas becoming the next Haiti with a move to the SEC.

Why then the cries of poverty in Texas should Texas A&M leave the Big 12? According to a report by the Perryman Group, even if the Big 12 stays intact, the economic impact of Texas A&M joining the SEC is a reduction of $217.2 million in gross product and 3,050 jobs on the Texas economy.

I love the idea that Texas is so rich and powerful that they will kill the SEC, end the UGA/Auburn game, move the SECCG to Dallas, etc. but will not be able to clear the pedestal of approval by the Texas state legislature to even get here.

This was always going to happen in the Leg. A&M was ultimately allowed to jump ship for the SEC only after it was guaranteed that UT and OU were going to stay in the Big 12, which guaranteed Baylor and Tech didn't get left behind as G5 programs.
That won't be the case this time around. The current Big 12 can't lose OU and UT and survive as a power conference. There will be a BIG push by the small schools to stop this move.

Good. We don't want or need them.

This will likely have legs. Any Baylor, Tech, TCU, or A&M Rep will oppose this as well as anyone from Waco, Fort Worth, or Lubbock just for starters.
Look at SMU, Rice, and UH now. That's the future for Tech, Baylor, and TCU. Texas wanting to make more money that they don't need is a tough sell as to a reason to destroy 3 more schools.

True, but it proves it’s real that Texas/SEC are trying to make this happen, and it’s not a move for tv money.
Bye bye big 12.

Liuccu says mutiple bills being drafted to stop this move

As you'd expect, Tech, Baylor and TCU reps are all rallying to file legislation blocking any state school from switching conferences without approval. Happening as we speak...and I'm sure Oklahoma State is doing the same. Buckle up.

Baylor and Tech are going to go kicking and screaming even more so than when we left. In the end I doubt it will matter because they are Baylor and Tech

prolly, but they are going to make it hard on UT to do it.
